Abstract The Cenozoic-age Makum coal from northeastern India offers numerous research opportunities because of its diverse geochemical and geological characteristics. Due to high sulfur content, the has been found be less useful for industrial purposes. It can, however, serve as a hub ongoing on coal-based derivative products. aim this work is investigate mineralogical compositions coal, mine overburden (MOB) shale samples taken field also establishing mutual relationship between them. To...
Abstract Opencast coal mining produces trash of soil and rock containing various minerals, that are usually dumped nearby the abandoned sites which causes severe environmental concern including production acid mine drainage (AMD) through oxidation pyrite minerals. The current study entailed assessing potential AMD from an opencast region in Northeast part India. In order to have a comprehensive overview problem Makum coalfield, physico-chemical, geochemical, petrological characteristics...
This paper discusses the porphyry copper mineralization in A‐type granitoids from Precambrian shield of Karbi Hills (Mikir Hills), NE India. The prospective zone lies Kuthori‐Bagori Kaziranga locality north Hills. host are characterized by intermediate to high SiO 2 (66.30–72.97 wt.%), Na O (up 4.90 Ba 1,943 ppm), Zr 410 Y 70 ppm) and Al 3 14.77 wt.%) with low concentrations CaO 1.53 Cu 32.41 which suggest a consistent granodiorite‐monzogranite composition, an intraplate emplacement,...
