Sea states, such as waves, tidal currents, and wind are important factors for safe economic ship navigation. In previous papers of Xia Shiotani, 2006a, 2006b single factor generated by low pressure was studied independently. The objective this paper is to study how navigation affected the combined effects these factors. For clarification, simulations two representative typhoons were conducted, results compared. Numerical applied provide high-resolution information, which then used simulate...
A network robot system integrated with various types of robots via ubiquitous networks is a new concept which introduces an interactive living together people. In this paper, we present tangible composed mobile and vision sensors embedded in environment, show human behavior recognition methods necessary for providing diverse services desired by the people good time. Typical behaviors are described logical defined through data fusion processes spatially temporally physical those environment....
In the power plant under operation, there are many important equipments which operator must inspect in non-operation state. Our milestone of humanoid robot can for man is moving around Power Plant and inspection experiments by using navigation system autonomous tele-operation fusion control. We constructed implemented a system, controlled Tag (RF-ID) Remote teaching human interface. The just reads tag with information on maintenance, act information. Therefore, switching program movement...
Ship weather routing system for transoceanic vessels has been studied many years to achieve an economic and safe navigation. However, little is known about that coastal sailing vessels. The purpose of this research develop a small We call it numerical navigation system. This paper mainly discusses one its important functions: the ability vessel on planned route as precisely possible. First, outline introduced, then simulation based MMG mathematical model revealed. Finally, on-board...
For safe navigation, high-resolution information on wind and waves is very important. In coastal areas in particular, the weather ocean situation changes dramatically time place according to effects of geography water depth. this paper, high resolution wave data are generated using SWAN [1][2] as a numerical model. To estimate waves, necessary. By mesoscale meteorological model WRF-ARW, detailed was generated. We simulated for duration typhoon passing over Japan September 2004. Secondly, we...
Since the period of long gravity wave is so and its amplitude relatively small, accurate measurement by conventional technique was often difficult. At 2002 Techno-Ocean conference, we had proposed direction finding system using GPS buoy array multiple signal classification method for analysis, it verified practically enough in simulation test. After that four experiments order to prove useful validity our system. We describe some results three show excellent accuracy estimate directions.
In this study, accuracy and characteristics of three global numerical weather prediction models, JMA-GSM, NCEP-GFS ECMWF-IFS, were verified in the Middle-East North Pacific Route. Because very few situ observations heterogeneity ship both routes, wind from QuikSCAT satellite used for verification. We found two general tendencies models; 1) long range forecasts are not accurate route, 2) become especially a specific season route. As result model intercomparison, it is that ECMWF-IFS more than...
The safety of a navigational ship is demanded for the prevention marine disaster. most ship's grounding are caused in shallow water relatively coastal area. It very important to propose effective information depth grounding. The present paper proposes expression using GIS avoidance grounding. examination proposals depth's was carried out Osaka Bay example. Also, beacon and alarm signal were added on three dimensional GIS. found that support navigation by proposing officer managing
The authors present results of experiments and numerical calculation the ballast water exchange from a 2D model tank using pumping through method. In recent years discharged ships has been identified as potential threat to marine environment. Many kinds species are included in these transferred one port another. Breed have some that cause severe adverse impact on ecology including expulsion native organisms. It probably effects human society well. view this problem IMO (International...
