We have used electron microscopy and solubility measurements to investigate the assembly structure of purified human platelet myosin rod into filaments. In buffers with ionic strengths less than 0.3 M, forms filaments which are remarkable for their small size, being only 320 nm long 10-11 wide in center bare zone. The dimensions these not affected greatly by variation pH between 7 8, strength 0.05 0.2 presence or absence 1 mM Mg++ ATP, concentration 0.7 mg/ml. Ca++ at 6.5 grow slightly...

The safety and efficacy of periodontal disease treatment by intrapocket placement tetracycline (TC) fibers was investigated in a 60‐day multicenter study conducted selecting 4 sites each subject with 6–10 mm pockets that bled on probing. Sites were randomly assigned to 1 test groups: TC fiber therapy, scaling, control (fibers without drug), or untreated. placed fill the pocket maintained cyanoacrylate adhesive for 10(±2) d. Scaling performed minimum 5 min under local anesthesia. Following...

Purified muscle actin and mixtures of actin-binding protein were examined in the transmission electron microscope after fixation, critical point drying, rotary shadowing. The three-dimensional structure assemblies was analyzed by a computer-assisted graphic analysis applicable to generalized filament networks. This yielded information concerning frequency intersections, length between these angle at which filaments branch concentration within defined volume. 1 mg/ml assembled into uniform...
