Sucrose, the primary carbon form synthesized by photosynthesis, is transported via phloem for proper plant development and productivity. However, long-distance sucrose transport can become unbalanced under adverse environmental conditions. Therefore, we highlight influence of salt stress on sugar partitioning in source versus sink tissues sorghum generative including role induced transporter expression. The two genotypes displayed different responses to salinity terms resource allocation,...

Several dwarf plum genotypes (Prunus salicina L.), due to deficiency of unknown gibberellin (GA) signalling, were identified. A cDNA encoding GA 2-oxidase (PslGA2ox), the major catabolic enzyme in plants, was cloned and used screen GA-deficient hybrids. This resulted identification a hybrid, designated as DGO24, that exhibits markedly elevated PslGA2ox signal. Grafting 'Early Golden' (EG), commercial cultivar, on DGO24 (EG/D) enhanced accumulation scion part generated trees compact stature....

ABSTRACT Late pear cultivars such as Passe‐Crassane (PC) require a long chilling treatment before they are capable of ripening. Early Old‐Home (OH) have no cold prerequisite. The regulation 1‐aminocyclopropane‐1‐carboxylic acid synthase ( ACS ) genes was studied in OH, PC and OH × hybrids order to determine the role this gene family requirement. Of seven Pc‐ACS cDNAs isolated, four Pc‐ACS1a/b Pc‐ACS2a/b showed differential expression associated with Pc‐ACS1a transcripts accumulated...

TIR1-like proteins are F-box auxin receptors. Auxin binding to the receptor promotes formation of SCFTIR1 ubiquitin ligase complex that targets repressors, Aux/IAAs, for degradation via ubiquitin/26S proteasome pathway. The release response factors (ARFs) from their Aux/IAA partners allows ARFs mediate auxin-responsive changes in downstream gene transcription. In an attempt understand potential role during fruit development, a plum receptor, PslTIR1, has previously been characterized at...

Abstract Fruit development is orchestrated by a complex network of interactions between hormone signaling pathways. The phytohormone gibberellin (GA) known to regulate diverse range developmental processes; however, the mechanisms GA action in perennial fruit species are yet be elucidated. In current study, gene PslSLY1, encoding putative F-box protein that belongs SLY1 (SLEEPY1)/GID2 (gibberellin-insensitive dwarf2) family, was isolated from Japanese plum (Prunus salicina). PslSLY1...
