Mobile defects in solid-state materials play a significant role memristive switching and energy-efficient neuromorphic computation. Techniques for confining manipulating point may have great promise low-dimensional memories. Here, we report the spontaneous gathering of oxygen vacancies at strain-relaxed crack walls SrTiO3 thin films grown on DyScO3 substrates as result flexoelectricity. We found that electronic conductance was enhanced compared to crack-free region, by factor 104. A...

Abstract A numerical formulation coupling finite and boundary element methods is developed to analyze the mechanical deformation electric polarization of flexoelectric solids experiencing geometrically nonlinear deformation. The proposed method considers electrical interactions among solids, charges, their surrounding medium. First, a higher-order gradient theory based on skew-symmetric couple-stress model solids. This includes total Lagrangian weak form that satisfies linear momentum...

Buckling of multilayer graphene sheets (MLGSs) subjected to an axial compressive load in plane-strain condition is studied. Closed-form solutions for buckling MLGSs are obtained based on a continuum model MLGSs. Two different kinematic assumptions, which lead MLGS beam, was recently proposed by the authors, and Euler used obtain loads. The yield significantly loads when length small. To validate results, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations conducted, they show that beam well captures...

Chaff is a passive jammer widely used to disrupt radar or radio-frequency sensors. A mass of chaff fibers dispersed in the air commonly referred as cloud. It nearly impossible numerically simulate real-time enormous amount composing In this paper, we model behavior estimated clouds probability density functions (PDFs) and apply approximation techniques estimate cross-section (RCS) cloud real time. To aerodynamics cloud, represented combination PDFs time wind speed. The applied...

Warships widely spread numerous chaffs using a blast, which form chaff clouds that create false radar cross-sections to deceive enemy radars. In this study, we established numerical framework based on one-way coupling of computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method simulate the spatiotemporal distribution for warships in air. Using framework, investigated effects wind, initial cartridge angle, blast pressure clouds. We observed three phases cloud diffusion: radial diffusion by...
