Abstract Alum is used in the coagulation of raw water almost all treatment plants world‐wide. The sludge produced from this process usually thrown away i.e. wasted. In Egypt, thousands tons alum are annually across country costing millions dollars. This paper deals with recovery most available at sludge. involved following steps: concentrating 5% to 20% solids, acidification sulfuric acid, separating supernatent liquid, decolorizing it using charcoal, filtration, solution by evaporation, and...

Biomedical applications, such as artificial implants, are very significant for the disabled due to their usage in orthopedics. Nevertheless, available materials applications have insufficient mechanical and tribological properties. The current study investigated properties of a biomedical metallic material, magnesium (Mg), after incorporating titanium dioxide nanofibers (TiO2) with different loading fractions. TiO2 were synthesized using electrospinning technique. ball-milling technique was...

This study investigates the enhancement of mechanical and tribological behavior in polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) composites reinforced with graphene oxide (GO) as a solid lubricant filler for advanced biomedical applications, particularly dental implants. PMMA/GO were prepared varying weight percentages GO (0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.7, 1 wt. %) to assess their impact on material performance. A noteworthy improvement both tensile strength Young’s modulus was detected, reaching up 141% 10.6%,...
