Abstract This work reported a process for the preparation of Portland cement clinker from sulfuric acid leaching residue coal fly ash. The oxide-scale structure and pickling behavior of oxided 2205 duplex stainless steel in the electrolytes containing hydrochloric acid were investigated. oxide scales mainly consist two layers: outer layer is dense Fe 2 O 3 , inner granular FeCr 4 spinel. The present paper provides equations for the design of liquid collection layers sloping radially toward a sump located in corner layer. It is pointed out that an equation currently used by some engineers not correct because it corresponds to case confined flow, which type flow should take place layer; this leads grossly underestimated values required thickness and hydraulic transmissivity layers.
