Abstract The Pleistocene presence of the genus Homo in continental Southeast Asia is primarily evidenced by a sparse stone tool record and rare human remains. Here we report Middle hominin specimen from Laos, with discovery molar Tam Ngu Hao 2 (Cobra Cave) limestone cave Annamite Mountains. age fossil-bearing breccia ranges between 164–131 kyr, based on Bayesian modelling luminescence dating sedimentary matrix which it was recovered, U-series an overlying flowstone, U-series–ESR associated...

Abstract The timing of the first arrival Homo sapiens in East Asia from Africa and degree to which they interbred with or replaced local archaic populations is controversial. Previous discoveries Tam Pà Ling cave (Laos) identified H. Southeast by at least 46 kyr. We report on a recently discovered frontal bone (TPL 6) tibial fragment 7) found deepest layers TPL. Bayesian modeling luminescence dating sediments U-series combined U-series-ESR mammalian teeth reveals depositional sequence...

The equilibrium partial vapor pressures over the binary solutions H 2 O/HNO 3 , SO 4 /H O, HNO and ternary mixture /HNO O have been re‐determined for temperatures below 25°C. model presented here is valid entire range of concentrations, in 190–298 K. predictions this are compared with existing measurements other predictions, both at room temperature low down to about 190 calculated agree very well available experimental data

The partial vapor pressures over liquid or supercooled solutions of water and nitric acid sulfuric are calculated for temperatures below 0°C. From these results the ternary system water‐nitric acid‐sulfuric (liquid supercooled) have been estimated compared with available experimental data Vandoni at Some possible implications formation stratospheric aerosols also discussed.

The uptake of nitryl chloride ClNO 2 by pure water and NaI solutions was studied as a function temperature in the range from 268 to 279 K with droplet train technique. An upper limit 10 −5 derived for on water, while rate observed be greatly enhanced presence −3 –10 −2 M iodide, yielding coefficients 1.1 × 6.6 . This enhancement is consequence reaction between I − where we suggest that transfer Cl + iodide involved. We also bulk kinetics alone unable describe measured which influenced...

Secure environmental contexts are crucial for hominin interpretation and comparison. The discovery of a Denisovan individual associated fauna at Tam Ngu Hao 2 (Cobra) Cave, Laos, dating back to 164-131 ka, allows comparisons between this (sub)tropical site the Palearctic sites Denisova Cave (Russia) Baishiya Karst (China). Denisovans from northern latitudes foraged in mix forested open landscapes, including tundra steppe. Using stable isotope values Cobra assemblage, we demonstrate that,...

Abstract. Air quality modeling associated with emission scenarios has become an important tool for air management. The set-up of realistic requires accurate inventories including the whole methodology used to calculate emissions. This means a good description source characteristics detailed composition emitted fluxes. Two main approaches are used. so-called bottom-up approach that relies on modification sources and top-down whose goal is generally reach standard pollutant concentration...
