This paper shares an early-career perspective on potential themes for the upcoming International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) Scientific Decade (SD). opinion synthesizes six discussion sessions in western Europe identifying three that all offer a different hydrological threats world faces and could serve to direct broader community: “Tipping points thresholds hydrology,” “Intensification water cycle,” “Water services under pressure.” Additionally, four trends were...

Abstract Short‐term bed level changes play a critical role in long‐term coastal wetland dynamics. High‐frequency observation techniques are crucial for better understanding of intertidal biogeomorphic evolution. Here, we introduce an innovative instrument dynamics observation, that is, LSED‐sensor (Laser based Surface Elevation Dynamics sensor). The LSED‐sensors inherit the merits previously introduced optical SED sensors as it enables continuous high‐frequency monitoring with relatively low...

Sediment dynamics under floods are critical for estuarine morphological evolution. A two-dimensional coupled hydrodynamic/sediment transport numerical modeling was adapted to investigate the flood-driven jet structure and resultant sedimentary regime in a river-dominated estuary, Modaomen Estuary, Pearl River Delta, China. The results show that flow velocity of flood exhibits Gaussian distribution transverse direction shows linear decreasing trend longitudinal direction. Moreover, distinct...

Abstract The anomalous variation in the diversion of flow and sediment at major bifurcation nodes Pearl River network recent years has been generally recognised accepted, yet underlying mechanisms have not revealed. In this study, a large‐scale two‐dimensional flow‐sediment numerical model estuary was constructed using TELEMAC‐MASCARET modelling system. Additionally, synchronous field surveys from dry season 2016 wet 2017 were used to validate model. complex branches system generalised....

With the development of economy and society, competition among companies is becoming more fierce. In order to effectively protect interests enterprises investors, it particularly important predict financial distress companies. There are many ways complete a prediction, e.g. logistic regression, K-Nearest Neighbor, random forest etc. But little hard know which algorithm most suitable in this task. This paper will consider issue by using eight algorithms consisting four single ensemble...
