Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a form of chronic hepatitis. The pathogenesis NASH has been dealt with in only few studies and so it not clearly identified yet. purpose this study was to investigate the roles TNF-alpha, TGF-beta, IL-6, IL-8, malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO) expression Bcl-2 Bax NASH.The included 92 patients, 57 whom were diagnosed biopsy-proven NASH, 13 hepatosteatosis 22 ultrasonography-diagnosed hepatosteatosis. Serum levels IL-6 IL-8 measured using ELISA...
Objectives Urinary tract infections are the most common type of in kidney transplant recipients. They also important factors for increased morbidity and mortality. The aims this study were to evaluate number urinary infections, identify possible donor/receiver-based risk factors, impact these on graft function. Materials methods Medical records patients who had undergone between 2010 2017 retrospectively analyzed. Results Our included 145 (49 women [33.8%] 96 men [66.2%]), with mean age 35.2...
Abstract Background This study reports findings in subjects who underwent brain imaging for any reason, and examined factors influencing cerebrovascular events (CVEs) hemodialysis (HD) patients. Methods We reviewed the files of patients on HD between January 2015 2018. A total 432 at least 5 months by were older than 18 years included study; 264 had been cerebral computed tomography or magnetic resonance examination within 3 years. Cerebrovascular pathology was detected 139 Results Of...
Background/aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes and identify predictors mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients. Materials methods: Medical records all incident (PD) patients followed up between January 2011 May 2019 were reviewed retrospectively. All until death, renal transplantation, transfer haemodialysis or end study. Results: A total 242 included incidence peritonitis 0.18 (ranging from 0 14.9) episodes per patient year. Death occurred 28% (n: 68) cases....
Sexual dysfunction is an under-recognised problem in due to very limited number of studies the literature. This study aims evaluate sexual related effects dialysis modality among male patients with chronic renal failure. All were asked complete 2 questionnaires: Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale [HADS] and International Index Erectile Function [IIEF-5]. A total 51 who completed questionnaires included study. 31 them under haemodialysis (HD) treatment, 20 peritoneal (PD) treatment. After...
Background: Chronic renal failure can cause anxiety, stress, and decrease the life quality. Therefore, this may lead to sleep bruxism, temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), related health problems. Aim: This study evaluated incidence of bruxism TMDs in patients undergoing hemodialysis compared it with that healthy individuals. Subjects Methods: A total 137 (68 69 individuals) participated study. They all filled out a form about age, sex, educational status, marital disorders, problems,...
This study aimed to determine the frequency of relapse, risk factors for and correlation relapse with immunosuppressive regimens in patients granulomatosis polyangiitis (GPA).The demographic characteristics, clinical, laboratory, radiological findings, treatment regimens, remission rates 50 GPA were obtained retrospectively from medical records. The mean relapse-free survival at years 1, 3, 5 82%, 60%, 50%, respectively. Increased observed who had cavitary lung lesions (52.2% vs. 22.2%, p =...
Abstract Introduction Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is associated with increased mortality and morbidity in kidney transplant patients. The ability to establish a sustained viral response before renal important for these Direct‐acting antiviral agents can increase the most patients HCV infection. In this case series, we aimed determine efficacy safety of combined therapy ombitasvir, paritaprevir, ritonavir, dasabuvir or without ribavirin genotype 1 cirrhosis on hemodialysis who were...
OBJECTIVES Kidney transplant offers an improved quality of life and prolonged survival for patients with end-stage renal disease. This study aimed to compare balance fall risk between kidney recipients healthy adults determine the relationship biochemical parameters in recipients. As far as we know, this is first literature that evaluated whether changes occur using Tetrax Interactive Balance System (Sunlight Medical Ltd., Ramat Gan, Israel). MATERIALS AND METHODS Our included 131 (80...
The aim of this study was to identify predictors mortality in granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) patients and seek the ways improving survival GPA patients.Between January 2005 June 2020, a total 60 (26 males, 34 females; median age: 49 years; range, 19 75 years) who were diagnosed retrospectively analyzed. Demographic, clinical, laboratory, radiological findings all recorded. Survival rates analyzed using Kaplan-Meier plot. The follow-up 36 months, 10 (16.7%) died during period....
In patients with chronic renal failure, the main cause of mortality is cardiovascular disease. Cardiac troponin T (cTnT) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) are found to be related decreased survival in both normal population failure different studies. Our aim investigate relationship between cTnT BNP failure.58 haemodialysis were enrolled prospectively for study. Blood samples measurement collected after haemodialysis. The divided into 3 groups according measurements. Group I included <...
Abstract Our aim is to investigate the clinical and laboratory findings affecting mortality of patients in 3 years follow‐up who underwent hemodialysis at our center. In this retrospective, observational cohort study, 432 center for least 5 months were included. The first recorded data subsequent died survived compared. Two hundred ninety survived, 142 died. mean age was higher (63.4 ± 12.3 years, vs. 52 16.1 P = 0.0001), 60.5% them had coronary artery disease ( 93.7% a heart valve disease....

Amaç: Son dönem böbrek yetmezliği olan kronik hastalarında kardiyovasküler olayların sıklığının artığı bilinmektedir ancak yetmezliğinin karotis arterler üzerinde nasıl bir etki gösterdiği net değildir. Bu çalışmanın amacı bunu değerlendirmektir. amaçla subklinik aterosklerozu ve hasarını gösteren elastisite distensibilite son hastalar sağlıklı populasyonda ölçülerek karşılaştırılmıştır.Gereç Yöntem: Çalışma kesitsel olarak planlandı. 61 hasta 58 gönüllünün elastisitesi distensibilitesi...
<br>We present a case of 32-year-old female who had been diagnosed tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) two years ago. In view serious hemorrhagic complication risk the selective embolization, we commenced her on oral rapamycin therapy for regression angiomyolipomas (AMLs). On 1st year treatment, bilateral renal AMLs were regressed and embolization AML was performed after treatment. Rapamycin may regress lesions in TSC disease. Therefore, it increase surgical intervention.<br>
Objective: Hyperphosphatemia is an important factor causing morbidity and mortality in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF). Most processed foods carbonated beverages contain inorganic phosphorus compounds. The aim of our study to investigate the level awareness about containing region. Material Methods: A total 319 were included study. seven-question survey was prepared test patients' food phosphorus. surveyed twice course one year, before after receiving education on nutrition....
