This study is a statistical analysis to establish whether correlation exists between the level and degree of rectus femoris (RF) central tendon injury amount time that an athlete unable participate subsequently, referred as "sports participation absence" (SPA).Causal-comparative study.35 players from two high-level Spanish soccer teams with RF based on clinical ultrasound criteria.Ultrasound examination was performed 8-2 MHz linear multifrequency transducer. All studies included both...

The present work is aimed at analysing ultrasound findings in patients with distal biceps brachii tendon (DBBT) injuries to assess the sensitivity of detecting different forms injury, and compare results magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) surgical results.A total 120 traumatic DBBT examined between 2011 2015 were analysed. We compared MRI when surgery was not indicated indicated. For major (complete tears high-grade partial tears), concordance study exploration methods found that presented a...

Soleus muscle injuries are common in different sports disciplines. The time required for recovery is often difficult to predict, and reinjury common. length of might be influenced by variables, such as the involved part muscle.Injuries central aponeurosis have a worse prognosis than lateral or medial well myofascial injuries.Case series; Level evidence, 4.A total 61 high-level professional athletes from several disciplines (soccer, tennis, track field, basketball, triathlon, field hockey)...

In recent years, different classifications for muscle injuries have been proposed based on the topographic location of injury within bone-tendon-muscle chain. We hereby propose that in addition to classification injuries, a histoarchitectonic (description damage connective tissue structures) definition be included nomenclature. Thus, nomenclature should focus not only macroscopic anatomy but also features injury.

High‐resolution ultrasound (US) has helped to characterize the “tennis leg injury” (TL). However, no specific classifications with prognostic value exist. This study proposes a medial head of gastrocnemius injury classification based on sonographic findings and relates this time return work (RTW) sports (RTS) evaluate classification. 115 subjects (64 athletes 51 workers) were retrospectively reviewed asses location according anatomy (myoaponeurotic junction; aponeurosis (GA), free (FGA)),...

Tendinopathy is an overuse tendon injury that occurs in loaded tendons and results pain functional impairment. Although many treatments for painful are described, the scientific evidence most of conservative surgical not always conclusive. This study was designed to evaluate efficacy 3 different interventions patients with Achilles tendinopathy. There are 12 reported cases of metacarpal stress fractures in athletes, with only 4 them involving the second metacarpal. The authors describe fracture bone teenaged tennis players and relationship sport intensity type grip used. They also demonstrate that magnetic resonance imaging is diagnostic study choice to differentiate this entity from most common cause pain region hand players-the carpal boss.Case series; Level evidence, 4.Seven adolescent (mean age, 16.5 years; 6 female, 1 male)...

Because MRI has shown great accuracy in assessing acute muscle injuries, identification of risk factors for reinjury before return to play (RTP) professional athletes during the healing process could be very relevant. We assessed value findings prior RTP as predictors reinjury.Retrospective observational study 59 athletes, mean age 26 years, with first-time injury and successful rehabilitation ready RTP.
