The paper gives an overview of phase based ranging techniques, focusing on the difference arrival method measured in frequency domain (FD-PDoA). After a theoretical distance estimation and localization, it introduces experimental RFID front-end prototype used for FD-PDoA measurements. Proposed modular design is very flexible allows easy replacement any block, as well direct access to all required low-level signals. main part article devoted range experiments anechoic chamber, using developed...
The brightest gamma-ray burst ever observed, long-duration GRB 221009A, was detected by GRBAlpha nano-satellite without saturation. We present light curves of the prompt emission in 13 energy bands, from 80 keV to 950 keV, and perform a spectral analysis calculate peak flux isotropic-equivalent luminosity. Since satellite's attitude information is not available for time this GRB, more than 200 incident directions were probed order find median luminosity its systematic uncertainty. found that...
In the past decade, Long-Range Wire-Area Network (LoRaWAN) has emerged as one of most widely adopted Low Power Wide Area (LPWAN) standards. Significant efforts have been devoted to optimizing operation this network. However, research in domain heavily relies on simulations and demands high-quality real-world traffic data. To address need, we monitored analyzed LoRaWAN four European cities, making obtained data post-processing scripts publicly available. For monitoring purposes, developed an...
Aims. Since it launched on 22 March 2021, the 1U-sized CubeSat GRBAlpha operates and collects scientific data high-energy transients, making smallest astrophysical space observatory to date. is an in-orbit demonstration of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) detector concept suitably small fit into standard 1U volume. As was demonstrated in companion paper, adds significant value community with accurate characterization bright GRBs, including recent outstanding event GRB 221009A. Methods. The 75 × 5 mm...

This paper describes a software defined radio system for measurements of minimum activation power and backscatter UHF RFID tags. We propose platform performance testing tags, which is based on general purpose universal peripheral (USRP) optimized operation in the frequency band from 700 MHz to 1100 at output 2 W ERP. The presented HW SW stack extends standard library USRP with specific functions, an interface LabVIEW, by top level LabVIEW code automated testing.
The communication Long Range (LoRa) protocol and LoRa Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) layer have recently experienced rapid adoption development for Internet of Things (IoT) communications. analysis network can be accelerated by efficient accurate simulations. In this paper, we present a wireless simulator various advanced applications. described approach is based on independent modules connected via the core, which emulates radio air interface. represent devices gateways runs their actual...
It is well known that silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) are prone to radiation damage. With the increasing popularity of SiPMs among new spaceborne missions, especially on CubeSats, it paramount importance characterize their performance in space environment. In this work, we report in-orbit ageing SiPM arrays, so-called multi-pixel photon counters (MPPCs), using measurements acquired by GRBAlpha and VZLUSAT-2 CubeSats at low Earth orbit (LEO) spanning over three years, which duration unique....
The development of monostatic multi-protocol UHF RFID interrogator is presented. It utilizes highly integrated IDS-R902DRM reader IC, enabling cost-efficient solutions with minimum mechanical dimensions. This IC also includes dense mode function which prevents reading conflicts in a multi-reader environment. Emphasis placed on the firmware design. Implementation each supported protocol briefly described. Final part devoted to discussion regulatory requirements European Union and USA.
This paper presents an outdoor long-range (from 315 m up to 5.3 km) fixed channel campaign for both ultra high frequency and super bands with co-polarized horizontal vertical antenna configurations. It investigates the characteristics of device communication scenarios underlaying 5th generation networks by providing detailed research. Both line sight non-line measurements in 1.3 GHz 5.8 bandwidth 600 MHz were conducted. The path loss, root mean square delay spread, coherence bandwidth,...
Thermal comfort evaluation based on the Comfort zone diagram is relatively new and promising method [1] developed by Hakan O. Nilsson [2]. The was mainly for non uniform indoor environments [3] such as vehicle cabins [4]. Mean thermal vote (MTV) correlated with equivalent temperature, which typically measured a manikin clothing or sensor heated surface. This fact advantage of this because prediction measurable physical phenomenon called dry heat loss. essence inspired us to develop...
The paper is focused on methods for the evaluation of backscatter RFID channel parameters. It shows how to obtain transfer function (CTF) using a set measurements discrete frequencies with common passive EPC Gen2 tags. main contribution lies in received signal phase low ambiguity, which achieved cluster detection constellation diagram backscattered signal. Experimental results several tags various measurement setups are presented and discussed. As final result, CTF transformed impulse...
