Carbon capture and storage (CCS) provides a solution toward decarbonization of the global economy. The success this depends on ability to safely permanently store CO2 This study demonstrates for first time permanent disposal as environmentally benign carbonate minerals in basaltic rocks. We find that over 95% injected into CarbFix site Iceland was mineralized less than 2 years. result contrasts with common view immobilization within geologic reservoirs takes several hundreds thousands Our...
In situ mineral carbonation provides the most effective and permanent solution for geologic CO2 storage. Basaltic rocks have potential to store large volumes of as (Ca, Mg, Fe) carbonates [1]. Existing monitoring verification techniques storage are insufficient quantitatively characterize solubility trapping in a reservoir. We developed tested new reactive tracer technique quantitative detection dissolved chemically transformed CO2. The involves active tagging injected with low levels...
Black women in the USA experience some of poorest health outcomes and this is especially true for those involved carceral system who are at elevated risks HIV/STIs, reproductive health, chronic diseases. This study aimed to investigate women's accessing healthcare services. We conducted semi-structured interviews with 43 from Project EWORTH under community supervision New York City. analysed responses focusing on barriers engagement. All were recorded, data analysis was using NVivo. Themes...
Abstract Background In the U.S. there are significant racial and gender disparities in uptake of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Black Americans represented 14% PrEP users 2022, but accounted for 42% new HIV diagnoses 2021 South, people 48% only 21% 2022. Women who use drugs may be even less likely than women do not have initiated PrEP. Moreover, involved community supervision programs (CSP) to initiate or PrEP, More interventions that focus on with recent history drug CSPs needed reduce...
To compare cost and utilization among users of insulin lispro regular (human) insulin. This was a retrospective analysis using administrative claims data for continuously enrolled subjects or between January 1, 1998, December 21, 1999. Subjects were matched 1 to on the propensity receive versus score estimated from baseline characteristics such as age, gender, comorbidities, oral hypoglycemic use. Once matched, 12 months follow-up pharmacy medical (e.g. prescriptions, office visits,...
This study examined retention and its relationship to mental health, substance use, social determinants of health in a randomized clinical trial behavioral HIV/sexually transmitted infection prevention intervention with drug-involved Black women (N = 348) under community supervision programs New York City. Using secondary analysis, we used logistic models test the association between factors related follow-up assessment completion (three, six, 12 months). Participants who were diagnosed...
In November 1973 the British Museum Research Laboratory acquired a Hewlett Packard 2100A mini-computer for storage, calculation and retrieval of scientific measurements made on museum objects. A part computer's work is radiocarbon dates based liquid scintillation counting 14 C activities. system programs files has been developed in daily use since August 1974 (Hall Hewson, 1977). This paper describes changes improvements to make it more flexible so that now provides full range facilities...
SUMMARY The efficacy of water vapor-saturated air as a treatment for horses with exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage ( eiph ) was studied. Horses selected study (n = 14) had grade 1 or greater in the trachea after minimum 4 breezes between 0.8 and km, determined by endoscopy. Nine were treated air; 5 not treated. When mean maximal scores from pre-treatment period compared both nontreated groups, there no significant difference groups. There suggestion linear relationship exercise speed...
