A new project, ‘Flora of Uzbekistan’, is announced to start with publication in 2017. It aims at publishing a multi-volume taxonomic treatment vascular plants Uzbekistan, complete synonymy, nomenclature, distribution data, descriptions and identification keys. The supported by an extensive database records, used generate maps. background information for the Flora provided, structure format work are outlined.
The diversity and distribution of the genus Tulipa in Uzbekistan are discussed; 34 taxa recognized Uzbekistan. were mapped using GIS software their distributions analyzed. Six species endemic to country. A national check‐list was created based on classification developed by Zonneveld (2009). ‘Hot spot’ areas tulip western Tien‐Shan (18 taxa), Pamir–Alay mountains taxa) Turan lowland (5 taxa). An assessment rare according IUCN red list categories criteria performed for first time Evaluation...
A check-list of endemic vascular plants the Tian-Shan Mountains, including plant distribution along mountain ranges and in Central Asian countries, has been compiled for first time this study. The list flora consists 871 species subspecies. One subspecies belongs to Pinaceae (Pinopsida) 870 taxa belong Magnoliidae (dicots, 732 taxa, monocots, 138 taxa). 39 families 187 genera. largest number endemics is concentrated Kyrgyzstan (225 national endemics, 507 total) Kazakhstan (205 485 total)....
With this paper we continue a new annual series, the main purpose of which is to make significant floristic findings from Russia and neighboring countries more visible in abroad. In total, presents records for 48 vascular plant species 6 Eurasian countries, obtained during field explorations, as well taxonomic revisions herbarium materials. For first time, locality Leontopodium leiolepis recorded Russia, Rheum uzengukuushi China, Rorippa prolifera Lithuania, Lappula marginata Kyrgyzstan...
Abstract The current study presents data on the structure of populations an endemic species Phlomis nubilans Zakirov under a drought climate. rare P. belongs to respective genus Uzbekistan. We studied ontogenetic populations, and state was estimated based set climate factors. focused two , revealing that examined grew conditions. incomplete, is, it did not include all age groups. Their spectrum centered coincided with characteristic spectrum. research determined type mature. do have any...
Parrya tojibaevii, a morphologically distinct species related to the taxa previously assigned genus Pseudoclausia, recognized herein as section, is described and illustrated. The novelty, known from few collections, confined small highly disturbed area around confluence of Chatkal River with Charvak Reservoir (Western Tian Shan, Uzbekistan) closest P. gracillima mollissima. new can be assessed critically endangered due its very narrow obviously shrinking range habitat, an easy accessibility...
Abstract The rate of regression the coastal line Aral Sea has been revealed for period from 1965 to 2019 with 5-year intervals. primary communities and their succession determined by landform, lithology, depth salinity groundwater have studied. According TSAVI index, dried bottom is classified as follows: water surface, swamps, salt marshes, puffed solonchaks, areas suitable vegetation, very low, medium, high aboveground biomass territories. correlation between shrinking sea formation...
Translocation is a recognized means of rescuing imperiled species but the evidence for long-term success translocations limited. We report successful translocation reproductive individuals critically endangered shrub Otostegia bucharica from site facing imminent habitat destruction into nearby natural population species. The relocated plants were visited year after planting and 13 years later to assess short- plant survival. Significant percentage that survived transplanting shock very dry...
Abstract The problem of preserving the biological diversity Earth is attracting increasing attention world scientific community. Rare plant species, as most vulnerable part flora, are under greatest threat extinction. In study this group plants, population methods increasingly being used. Revealing number, structure, efficiency self-renewal and resistance populations rare plants in relation to anthropogenic influences creates basis for developing effective measures their protection. aim was...
The determination of nucleotide sequences in DNA, sequencing chloroplast genomes techniques, based on the use combinations a significant number genetic markers, as well nuclear genome are widely for inventory rare plant species, ecological monitoring and species diversity assessment. results our molecular analysis used to examine taxonomic identity phylogenetic relationship studied Iris collected Uzbekistan. genotyping three-four functional loci nrDNA cpDNA was performed efficient...
Abstract The Republic of Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country with rich native flora. territory belongs to the Irano-Turanian region in Ancient Mediterranean floristic subkingdom Holarctic. flora accounts over 4300 species vascular plants including large numbers endemic species, but check-list still incomplete. Presented here ten new records Uzbekistan, were found during field studies and examination herbarium collections preserved at TASH.
A checklist of ascomycetous microfungi the Nuratau Nature Reserve (Nuratau Mountains, Uzbekistan) was compiled for first time as a result field research conducted in 2009–2017. In total, 197 species, 3 varieties and 51 forms micromycetes belonging to 66 genera 30 families have been identified. Among them 19 species (Asteromella tanaceti, Camarosporium achilleae, Diplocarpon alpestre, Diplodia celtidis, Hendersonia ephedrae, Mycosphaerella artemisiae, Neopseudocercosporella capsellae, Phoma...

Abstract Biological diversity preservation is important concept in modern science and environmental policy of Uzbekistan, improving the status global biodiversity. Flora Uzbekistan accounts over 4380 species vascular plants. 378 taxa representing approximately 9% currently recognized are considered as a national endemics. The present study aimed at identification inventory wild, rare endangered plant based on molecular genetic techniques. For effective high results reliability, genotyping...
