Abstract. Rapid increases in pollutant emissions conjunction with stagnant meteorological conditions result haze pollution China. Recent frequent China has attracted worldwide attention. Here we show a relationship between the events and Tibetan Plateau (TP)'s environment climate changes. Based on observational data taken over recent decades, identify central-eastern (CEC) as climatological large-scale “susceptible region” of haze, which is harbored by TP its impact midlatitude westerly...

The construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) has seriously affected fish assemblage in impounded reaches. However, changes riverine zone remain poorly documented. In order to explore how upstream responded successive impoundments TGR, investigations were conducted biannually Hejiang, a protected reach upper Yangtze River, during period from 1997 2011. Multivariate analysis revealed significant temporal differences following TGR. Prior impoundments, appeared be very diversified and...

Length-weight relationships are described for 77 fish species belonging to eight families and 56 genera from the Chishui River, a protected tributary of upper Yangtze China. Length–weight were unknown FishBase new maximum lengths recorded 44 species. These results will be useful fishery research, management conservation in River Basin.

The present study investigated the presence of Chinese sturgeon Acipenser sinensis on its only remaining spawning ground (below Gezhauba Dam), and monitored behaviour under different environmental conditions from 24 December 2015 to 23 January 2016. A fixed ARIS (Adaptive Resolution Imaging Sonar) system was used a total 72 were detected during nine observations. Detections initially recorded few A. in early days late-December 2015, with an increase recordings, leading peak early-January...

The length–weight relationships were estimated for five endemic fishes (Schizothorax curvilabiatus, Schizothorax molesworthi, Garra kempi, Neolissochilus hexagonolepis, Exostoma labiatum) from the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet, China. Fishing gear used sampling included 4 cm mesh gill nets (100 m long × 1.2 high) and electrofishing, December 2015 to January 2016. Three of species have new records maximum length FishBase.
