The effect of platinum (Pt) loadings air-cathodes in the 0-0.5 mg cm-2 range on single chamber microbial fuel cell (MFC) performance and cathode impedance was evaluated. In MFC tests, reducing benchmarking Pt loading 0.5 to 0.1-0 decreased maximum power density by between 38% 84%. decrease open circuit potential with reduced small down a catalyst 0.03 cm-2, but significant when further 0.01 or 0 cm-2. Impedance measurements cathodes revealed that both charge-transfer diffusion resistance...
Abstract We investigated the unique passive behaviour of Hybrid steel in de-aerated sulfuric acid and aqueous sodium chloride solutions through corrosion tests, surface analysis, thermochemical modelling. Electrochemical measurements confirmed that possesses stainless characteristics, including passivity, breakdown, pitting, akin to low-alloyed steel. Synchrotron hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed a dynamically protective nanoscale film composed Fe, Cr, Ni, Al oxides,...
This study investigated the electrochemical behavior of pure nickel in sub-molten KOH at 200 °C and structure surface films formed different anodic polarization potentials. Potentiodynamic measurements showed an active-to-passive transition followed by transpassivity. Unlike aqueous alkaline solutions, created active, far passive, transpassive regions are few microns thick. Grazing-incidence x-ray diffraction (GI-XRD), Raman, photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) revealed that a thick defective...
Carbon fibres (CF) have attracted huge interest due to their inherent properties, which make them useful for various applications. The majority of CF is produced from polyacrylonitrile, a type synthetic polymer derived ammonia and propylene. Herein, was synthesized via the electrospinning technique using lignin-based solutions. To enhance process lignin solution, composite solution natural polymers cellulose acetate employed. resulting electrospun polymeric exhibited diameters ranging 100...
