Abstract The inner shelf of the East China Sea is a river‐dominated margin characterized by fine‐grained mud deposits and rapid sedimentation rate. In this paper, we present the results of research on a coastal lowland Holocene tidal flat sequence in order to explore variations magnetic mineralogy during process sedimentation and subsequent land formation.
