During April and May 2006, experiments were carried out in Brejo do Mutambal, Varzelândia Town, Minas Gerais State, to evaluate the attractiveness of phlebotomine sandflies CDC light traps, baited with kairomones. Of 19 species Lutzomyia already registered for region, L. lutziana (Costa Lima), longipennis (Barreto), goiana (Martins, Falcão & Silva) brasiliensis Lima) recorded first time, thus increasing diversity fauna this area 23 species.
