The ultimate response of sensors employing the magnetostrictive properties metallic glasses depends on efficient transfer strain between system under investigation and transducer. In this paper effect magnetostriction applying bonding agents is studied using a model system, which takes account application to fiber-optic magnetometer. Measurements are presented dc M-H, λ-H, λ-M loops. Results for as-received stress-relieved samples compared, discussed in terms domain spin geometry specimens....

The salient design features of a version the Photochron II streak tube having an internal microchannel plate intensification stage are described. Experimental results presented to demonstrate that camera incorporating this image has temporal resolution ~1 ps it synchroscan mode operation and ~4 in single-shot operation.

Shape anisotropy, or the demagnetising effect, limits sensitivity achievable with optical fibre magnetometers. The optimum sensor geometry has minimum cross-section compatible efficient strain transfer. For a head multiple passes of magnetically sensitised fibre, there is limit to increase in as number increased.

A polyamide-type of commercial photopolymer was used to form a flexible gravure plate by exposure through standard half-tone positive. The range suitable exposures and resulting “etch” depths cell volumes were determined. Comparisons with theoretical model volume made. produce proofs whose densities plotted against the original. These results show that variable depth-variable area obtained use 65° shoulder inherent in polymer produces final print density comparable existing systems.
