Abstract This study assessed the effects of slope exposure, altitude and yield on several cup quality criteria coffees from two terroirs Costa Rica, Orosi (between 1020 1250 m above sea level) Santa María de Dota 1550 1780 level). East‐facing slopes gave beverages with generally superior attributes, probably owing to better exposure morning sunlight. These were mainly more acid: at an acidity score 2.73 out 5 was obtained (3.64 for Dota) eastern exposures, as opposed 2.36 average (3.28 other...

Major objectives for alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.) breeding include improving forage quality and levels of disease resistance. Little is known about the associations between characteristics, including pectin (the main component neutral detergent‐soluble fiber [NDSF]), resistance vigor in alfalfa. Our were to determine, two populations, (i) correlations among NDSF other traits; (ii) traits with plant persistence, vigor, diseases; (iii) heritabilities expected gains from selection...

New highly productive guineagrass (Megathyrsus maximus syn. The objective of this study was the liveweight gains young Nellore bulls 3 under rotational stocking. experiment carried out Planaltina (Federal District, Brazil) during a single rainy (November‒April) dry (May‒August) season. Treatments were Massai (control), BRS Tamani Zuri cultivars....

Selection of superior forage genotypes is based on agronomic traits assayed in repeated measures. The questions are how repeatable the performance individual and many harvests needed to select best genotypes. objectives were estimate repeatability coefficients dry matter yield (DMY) quality, their phenotypic stability number for an accurate selection. Two randomized complete block design experiments data with 24 each, undergoing 12 16 harvests, over a period 2 3 years, respectively, used....
