Epoxy resin matrix composites filled with dispersed micro and nano gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) particles of different contents were fabricated in this study. The γ radiation shielding mechanical properties these evaluated by measuring mass attenuation coefficients at photon energies from 31 keV to 356 flexural performances. Adding Gd2O3 obviously increases composites, the enhancement is stronger low energy because dominating photoelectric effect k-edge element gadolinium. Effect particle size...

The CNT sheet fabricated by the floating catalyst chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method has attracted great attention due to its easy fabrication process and promising mass production at low cost. However, randomly oriented with a loose stacking density shows relatively poor mechanical properties. In this work, highly aligned dense was successfully simple of two-time stretching pressing multilayered CVD-grown sheet. Drastic nanotube rearrangements occurred during processes. A polymer-like...

Abstract Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are an economical and multi‐functional nanofiller that can further elevate the versatile performance of fiber‐reinforced polymer (FRP). The past two decades have seen significant progress in design, fabrication, characterization CNTs modified FRPs (CNT‐FRPs). introduction has been proven to enhance key mechanical properties CNT‐FRPs endow composite with additional functional properties. In this review, fabrication routes CNT incorporation into first...

Abstract The interface properties between surface grown carbon nanotubes fiber (CNTs‐CF) and epoxy resin were investigated by different modification methods. X‐ray photoelectron spectrometer probations show that the pristine CNTs‐CF has very low contents of both oxygen element active element. Taking naked (CF) without CNTs as a reference, interfacial shear strength (IFSS) CNTs‐CF/epoxy is only 5.6% higher. After heat treatment, chemical sizing treatments, activity improved considerably. In...
