Multiple morphologic parameters were studied in 50 normal adult vertebral columns ranging age from 20 to 40 years at the time of death. Posterior element morphology is highly variable and largely unpredictable. Minimum pedicle diameters ranged 1.8 mm T6 6.4 L5, did not correlate with any more readily measured dimensions. Penetration 5 screw threads through cortex can be expected occur routinely lower thoracic spine, a lesser but significant number lumbar vertebrae.

Anterior extension the specimens was noted in 94% affected specimens. No evidence osteoporosis by single-photon absorptiometric analysis sample compared normal control group. Twenty-six adults, ranging in age from nineteen to fifty-eight years old, were treated for idiopathic scoliosis by two-stage anterior and posterior spinal fusion. The goals of the combined procedure increase correction curve decrease rate pseudarthrosis. Preoperatively, major curves measured an average 83 degrees, on best side-bend they averaged 59 a 29 per cent degree flexibility. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging was performed in five children, ages 9 to 12, with acute, subacute, chronic, and recurrent osteomyelitis. Saturation recovery (SR), T2-weighted spin echo, inversion (IR) pulse sequences were employed. A reduction the normally bright image of bone marrow corresponded abnormalities seen on radiographs, CT scans, radionuclide scans. SR images produced best signal-to-noise ratios. Contrast between normal abnormal most pronounced IR sequences, which suggested an...

The cases of eighteen patients who underwent thoracotomy for treatment tracheoesophageal fistula or esophageal atresia were reviewed after a follow-up ten years more. In nine spinal curves 10 degrees more had developed, and eight the convex away from side incision. Curves found to have appeared at any time early childhood skeletal maturity, but those that developed before adolescent growth spurt most likely progress. Patients undergone in should be watched carefully development scoliosis.

The acetabular index decreased from 25 degrees girls 22 boys 3 months to 18 19 degrees, respectively, 24 H distance did not vary with age or sex, but D increased increasing age.
