Recently developed classes of electronics for biomedical applications exploit substrates that offer low elastic modulus and high stretchability, to allow intimate, mechanically biocompatible integration with soft biological tissues. A challenge is such do not generally protection the from peak strains can occur upon large‐scale deformation, thereby creating a potential device failure. The results presented here establish simple route compliant strain‐limiting mechanics based on approaches...

Practical application of 3D magnetotelluric inversion requires efficient forward modeling electromagnetic (EM) fields in the earth. To resolve realistic structures, large computational domains and extremely linear systems equations are required. The iterative solvers, which almost exclusively used to solve these systems, can be inefficient due abundant null space curl-curl operator. Multigrid (MG) solvers considered a potentially technique for solving such problems. However, solution...

For large-scale magnetotelluric (MT) forward modeling using vector finite-element methods, iterative solvers are commonly applied. However, as frequency decreases close to zero, the solution process struggles converge. This is mainly caused by fact that weak conductivity term in curl-curl equation governing electromagnetic (EM) diffusion earth fades during for EM fields. can lead violation of divergence-free condition current and false jumps calculated We develop a regularization technique...

Abstract Headwater catchments play a vital role in regional water supply and ecohydrology, quantitative understanding of the hydrological partitioning these is critically needed, particularly under changing climate. Recent studies have highlighted importance subsurface critical zone (CZ) structure modulating precipitation mountainous catchments; however, few existing explicitly taken into account 3D CZ structure. In this study, we designed realistic synthetic catchment models based on...

Leachate leakages from municipal landfills are significant environmental problems that threaten groundwater and soil resources. Geophysical techniques, such as the self-potential (SP) method, commonly used to detect delineate underground contaminated plumes. However, traditional inversion techniques for SP source information require precise knowledge of subsurface conductivity, which can be challenging obtain. In this study, we proposed an algorithm, called SP-Net, based on a convolutional...

Large scale three-dimensional (3D) natural source electromagnetic (EM) inversion requires efficient forward modelling because the necessitates expensive iterations. The multigrid (MG) solvers are considered a potentially techniques for large 3D modeling of EM fields due to their linear dependence computational time on grid size. Memory also scales linearly with size making MG very memory friendly and thus computationally when compared direct which N2 N4/3 (N is degree freedom) in memory. We...

Abstract Hydrologic modeling has been a useful approach for analyzing water partitioning in catchment systems. It will play an essential role studying the responses of watersheds under projected climate changes. Numerous studies have shown it is critical to include subsurface heterogeneity hydrologic correctly simulate various fluxes and processes system. Traditional Krylov subspace methods can be slow for electromagnetic modeling, particularly at lower frequencies. One of the commonly used remedies is to apply divergence correction iteratively during solution process, which requires solving an additional equation. Alternatively, we have developed efficient regularization technique carry out forward modeling anisotropic effect 3D controlled-source data. Abstract To avoid the problem of traditional methods consuming large computational resources to calculate kernel matrix and 2D discrete convolution, we present a novel approach for 3D gravity magnetic modelling. This method combines midpoint quadrature with fast Fourier transform (FFT) anomalies arbitrary density or susceptibility distribution. In this scheme, apply volume element integral. Then, convolution weight coefficient magnetization is efficiently computed via FFT. Finally, accuracy...
