The use of microalgae as a food source is still poorly developed because the technical difficulties related to their cultivation and limited knowledge about chemical composition nutritional value. unicellular red microalga Galdieria sulphuraria has very high daily productivity its under acidic conditions avoided any bacterial contamination. G. can be cultured autotrophic heterotrophic conditions: in this study screening 43 strains showed that latter case duplication biomass production was...

Abstract Objectives In 2006, Médecins sans Frontières ( MSF ) established an emergency obstetric and neonatal care (Em ONC referral facility linked to ambulance system for the transfer of women with complications from peripheral maternity units in Kabezi district, rural Burundi. This study aimed (i) describe communication service together cost; (ii) examine association between times maternal early deaths; (iii) assess impact on coverage complicated cases caesarean sections. Methods Data were...

We investigate the properties of a laser-plasma electron accelerator as bright source keV x-ray radiation. During interaction, electrons undergo betatron oscillations and from carefully measured spectrum oscillation amplitude can be deduced which decreases with increasing energies. From independently size $(1.8\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.3)\text{ }\text{ }\ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{m}$ we are able to estimate bunch diameter $(1.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.3)\text{ }\ensuremath{\mu}\mathrm{m}$.

To define a follow-up protocol based on the University of California Los Angeles Integrated Staging System (UISS) for patients undergoing surgery N0M0 renal cell carcinoma (RCC).The clinical records treated with radical N0/NXM0 RCC and monitored through periodic studies (> or =24 months in disease-free patients) were reviewed retrospectively from 1399 surgically neoplasms between 1983 2005. Each case was assigned UISS risk category; recurrence features, time site recorded. In particular,...

The notable progress in laser particle acceleration technology promises potential medical application cancer therapy through compact and cost effective devices that are suitable for already existing clinics. Previously, consequences on the radiobiological response by driven beams characterised an ultra high peak dose rate have to be investigated. Therefore, tumour non-malignant cells were irradiated with pulsed accelerated electrons at JETI facility comparison continuous of a conventional...

Laser-plasma particle accelerators could provide more compact sources of high-energy radiation than conventional accelerators. Moreover, because they deliver in femtosecond pulses, improve the time resolution X-ray absorption techniques. Here we show that can measure and control polarization ultra-short, broad-band keV photon pulses emitted from a laser-plasma-based betatron source. The electron trajectories hence X-rays are experimentally controlled by pulse-front tilt driving laser pulses....

Purpose: In recent years, laser-based acceleration of charged particles has rapidly progressed and medical applications, e.g., in radiotherapy, might become feasible the coming decade. Requirements are monoenergetic particle beams with long-term stable reproducible properties as well sufficient intensities a controlled delivery prescribed doses at treatment site. Although conventional accelerators will administer same dose to patient, their different time structures could result...
