Abstract The E2F transcription factor 1 is subtly regulated along the cell cycle progression and in response to DNA damage by post-translational modifications. Here, we demonstrated that E3-ubiquitin ligase cellular inhibitor of apoptosis (cIAP1) increases E2F1 K63-poly-ubiquitination on lysine residue 161/164 cluster, which associated with transcriptional stability activity. Mutation these residues completely abrogates binding CCNE , TP73 APAF1 promoters, thus inhibiting activation genes...
The cellular inhibitor of apoptosis 1 (cIAP1) is an E3-ubiquitin ligase that regulates cell signaling pathways involved in fundamental processes including death, proliferation, differentiation and inflammation. It recruits ubiquitination substrates thanks to the presence three baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domains at its N-terminal extremity. We previously demonstrated cIAP1 promoted E2 factor (E2F1) transcription factor. Moreover, we showed was required for E2F1 stabilization during S phase...
