Thulium fiber laser with a wavelength of 1.94 µm is widely used in urology for lithotripsy. This paper studies the mechanism lithotripsy and evaluates its clinical efficiency using superpulse thulium peak power 500 W. An experimental setup was developed to study The (TFL) W (FiberLase U2 from “IRE-POLUS” Ltd., Fryazino, Moscow Region, Russia) stone phantoms (BegoStone). processes were recorded high-speed camera. acoustic signals registered during studied wideband needle hydrophones. main...

We study the effects that occur in a physiological solution when laser radiation with wavelength of 1.94 μm and power 60 – 120 W is delivered into it through an optical fibre. It shown as result boiling liquid near fibre end, laser-induced hydrodynamic effect can be realised, which two-phase jet formed, consisting heated water vapour-gas bubbles propagating at speed ∼1 m s−1. This used medicine for dissecting biological tissues removing bladder tumour single unit, stricture ureter or...

Abstract We report the results of studying heat transfer in water heated by a cw laser with wavelengths 1.55 and 1.94 μm through optical fibres end-face radial outputs. It is shown that, depending on power wavelength radiation, implemented via convection, bubble boiling, or explosive boiling occurs asymmetrically, mainly forward − upward direction for fibre output output.
