Arcyria marginoundulata Nann.-Bremek. & Y. Yamam. is recorded for the first time in South America from collections made areas of Cerrado, also known as Brazilian Savanna. This species has a restricted occurrence Latin America, where it been found Mexico, Panama, and now Brazil, with all obtained moist chamber cultures. In addition to updating distribution this species, we describe variation its natural grayish-white color an orange hue reasons yet be defined.
Abstract Corticioid and poroid fungi are traditional morphological groups composed of ligninolytic species. Due to their efficiency in wood decomposition process, many species have great ecological importance, especially nutrient cycling, as well for biotechnological properties. Nevertheless, knowledge about these is scarce phytogeographic regions Brazil, the case Cerrado, since mycodiversity studies this biome mainly focused on areas São Paulo state. Here we present taxonomic inventory...
We report the first occurrence of genus Gyrodontium Pat. from Brazilian Cerrado based on our finding G. sacchari (Spreng.) Hjortstam. This also represents record family Coniophoraceae Midwest Region central Brazil. identified sample by morphological and phylogenetic analyses (ITS gene), a voucher was deposited in fungarium Universidade Estadual de Goiás (HUEG-Fungi). adds to knowledge Cerrado’s funga providing new biogeographic data for Neotropical region.
