A floristic, ethnobotanical and natural habitat study was carried out in the wetlands of Macta marshes northwest Algeria. The specimens obtained made it possible to identify 89 taxa plants belonging 32 botanical families dominated by Amaranthaceae Asteraceae. Analysis chorology has shown dominance Mediterranean element, but only 3 endemic are recognized. Five considered rare 4 protected Algeria; 5 have an IUCN status minor consideration Spergularia doumerguei P. Monnier vulnerable. local...
The present paper reports on an investigation to monitor the drought status in Algerian forest covered areas with satellite Earth observations because ground data are scarce and hard collect. main goal of this study is map surface energy fluxes remote sensing data, based a simplified algorithm solve balance equation each pixel. Cultivated areas, cover large water were included investigated surfaces. input parameters involve remotely sensed visible, near infrared thermal infrared. estimated...
Purpose: The objective of this study was to measure the fire risk forests and compare areas with high sensitivity forest fires. Theoretical Framework: Many authors have demonstrated fragility Algerian in face fires (Belhadj, 2003; Souidi et al., 2010 2017). In research paper, researchers focused on identifying factors responsible for Algeria using a state-of-the-art tool, Geographic Information System (GIS). explained scientific process exploring new indicators GIS, showed how develop map....
The Tlemcen region is characterized by very diverse and steep areas exposed to gravity hazards, especially in high medium mountain areas. National Park was chosen for this study, the main objective of which map fragile close relation reduced vegetation cover due land-use changes forest fires. Multi-source data were used monitor land use/land (LULC)patterns study area between 1987 2017. methodology based on an object-oriented classification Landsat images, using K nearest neighbor method...
Abstract Monitoring evapotranspiration and surface energy fluxes over a range of spatial temporal scales is crucial for many agroenvironmental applications. Different remote sensing based balance models have been developed, to estimate at both field regional scales. In this contribution, METRIC (Mapping EvapoTranspiration high Resolution with Internalized Calibration), has applied the estimation actual in Ghriss plain Mascara (western Algeria), semiarid region heterogeneous conditions. Four...
The present study aims at documenting the use of medicinal plants by local populations five regions in province Relizane North-West Algeria. Our findings show that 104 species from 46 botanical families. predominant families are Lamiaceae (12%), Apiaceae (10%), Compositae (8%), and Fabaceae (5%). Moreover, most frequently cited Thymus vulgaris L. (83 citations), Olea oleaster Hoffmanns. & Link (80 Mentha spicata (75 Eucalyptus salmonophloia F.Muell. (71 citations). highly may be further...
In Algeria, the advance of urban front towards peri-urban area has been confirmed since 1970s and today takes several forms, in particular peri-urbanisation, a new form sprawl that is generating an unprecedented consumption land. Sidi Bel Abbès, which occupies strategic position north-west Algeria terms population economic activity, undergoing remarkable transformation its space, especially outskirts. order to assess this phenomenon, we thought it worthwhile explore suitable spatial analysis...
Abstract The forest fires constitute a major danger for the forests in Western Algerian region. They are caused by combination of several factors, particularly climatic and anthropogenic, which often amplified composition vegetation that is considered highly flammable during dry season. priority action to deal with this phenomenon strengthen monitoring resources apply preventive silvicultural measures avoid outbreak fires, without forgetting efforts educate raise public awareness. A...
