Abstract Two‐photon photodynamic therapy is a promising therapeutic method which requires the development of sensitizers with efficient two‐photon absorption and singlet‐oxygen generation. Reported here are two new diketopyrrolopyrrole‐porphyrin conjugates as robust absorbing dyes high cross‐sections within window. Furthermore, for first time generation efficiency diketopyrrolopyrrole‐containing systems investigated. A preliminary study on cell culture showed induced phototoxicity.
A new synthetic procedure has been developed which makes possible the preparation of IrLL'3+ complexes (L, L' = terpyridine derivative) in good yields. In a first step, IrLCl3 is obtained under relatively mild conditions as an intermediate. Subsequent reaction with (a few minutes refluxing ethylene glycol) affords IrLL'3+. The electrochemical behavior and ground- excited-state spectroscopic properties four nitrile solvents are reported. X-ray structure one these also described. have designed...

Four new dimeric bis(BF(2))-2,2'-bidipyrrins (bisBODIPYs), and their corresponding BODIPY monomers, have been prepared studied with respect to structural photophysical properties. The solid-state molecular structure of the dimers relative orientation subunits revealed by an X-ray diffraction study, which showed that molecules contain two directly linked chromophores in a conformationally fixed, almost orthogonal arrangement. Two fluorine atoms are close contact each other (19)F NMR spectra...
By applying the three-dimensional template effect of copper(I), previously used for making various interlocking ring systems, a new disymmetrical [2]-catenate has been made which consists two different rings. One contains 2,9-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dpp) unit whereas other cycle incorporates both dpp motif and 2,2',6',2''-terpyridine (terpy) fragment, coordination site these chelates pointing toward inside ring. Depending on oxidation state central metal (Cu(I) or Cu(II)), thus its...

In photosynthesis, sunlight energy is converted into a chemical potential by an electron transfer sequence that started excited state and ultimately yields long-lived charge-separated state. This process can be reproduced carefully designed multicomponent artificial arrays of three or more components, the stored used to oxidize reduce molecules in solution, inject electrons holes, create flow. Therefore, important both for artificial-photosynthesis research photovoltaic optoelectronic...

J., 2008, 14, 2976–2983) has been undertaken along with that the component BODIPY monomers. monomers display typical properties this family; (i) narrow intense single absorption band in visible range at 530 nm; (ii) intense, solvent independent emission (Φflca. 1); (iii) a 200–400 cm−1 Stokes shifted emission, polarity; (iv) no...
A detailed photophysical characterization of a series six free-base corroles with different substitution patterns at meso-positions is presented. In air-free toluene 295 K, the luminescence quantum yields range from 0.13 to 0.22 and lifetimes vary 4.1 ns 6.3 whereas in air-saturated 3.8 5.6 ns. glassy 77 K have values 5.2 7.9 Transient absorption spectra singlet excited states positive bands art λ < 550 nm > 680–700 nm. A new methanofullerene derivative with a pyridine residue at the methano bridge (PC60) has been synthesized. Its electrochemical and photophysical properties have investigated in toluene solution along those of analogous fullerene mono-malonate adduct RC60, which does not contain pyridyl moiety. PC60 RC60 display almost identical steady state absorption luminescence transient spectra, as shown by means nano- picosecond laser flash photolysis. Their markedly different spectroscopic features...
We have prepared rodlike cyclometalated Ru(II)/Os(II) dinuclear complexes, (ttp)Ru(dpb-(ph)(n)()-dpb)Os(ttp)(2+), where the biscyclometalating bridging ligands contain dipyridylbenzene fragments, dbp, separated by a variable number, n, of phenylene spacers, and terminal ligand is terpyridine derivative [dpbH di-2-pyridyl-1,3-benzene, ttp 4'-p-tolyl-2,2':6',2"-terpyridine, n = 0-2]. The gathered spectroscopic data indicate that after of visible light, formation luminescent...
