Eryngiopus langroudiensis n. sp. (Acari: Stigmaeidae) is described and illustrated, based on females collected from soil under citrus trees leaves in the cities of Langroud, Chaboksar Vajargan, Guilan province, Iran. The where this species was found were also infested by pest mites Panonychus citri (McGregor), Brevipalpus obovatus Donnadieu scale insects.
Abstract The essential oils of Thymus vulgaris L. and Origanum vulgare were investigated for their toxicity physiological aspects on the lesser mulberry pyralid Glyphodes pyloalis Walker in controlled condition (24±1°C, 75±5% RH 16L : 8D). leaf disc method was used to study acute toxicity, effect LC 10 , 30 50 feeding efficiency 4th instar larva, biochemical indices. oil doses estimated be 0.107%, 0.188% 0.279% T. vulgaris, 0.67%, 1.173% 1.728% O. vulgare, respectively. results showed that...
A new species, Cheletonella iraniensis n. sp. (Acariformes: Prostigmata: Cheyletidae) is described based on adult females from Rasht, Guilan Province, Northern Iran. Additionally, a key to the world species (females) of genus Womersley provided.
Abstract Typhloseiulus peculiaris (Kolodochka, 1980) and Phytoseius spoofi (Oudemans, 1915) found for the first time in Guilan Province, Iran are reported. Keys provided to distinguish species of Chant McMurtry Phytoseiidae Iran. Neoseiulus kermanicus Daneshvar, 1987, N. oryzacolus 1987 tropicalis recognised as junior synonyms barkeri Hughes, 1948, imbricatus (Corpuz-Raros Rimando, 1966) P. plumifer (Canestrini Fanzago, 1876), respectively. Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) iranensis Daneshvar...
Plant lectins could reduce insect populations by imposing imbalances in biology and physiology. Here, an agglutinin was extracted from Polygonum persicaria L. (PPA; Polygonales: Polygonaceae) its effects were investigated on life table parameters antioxidant system of Helicoverpa armigera Hübner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). PPA significantly changed demographic showing adverse age-stage survival rate (Sxj), age-specific (lx), fecundity (mx), age stage specific (fxj), expectancy (exj). Also,...
Effects of three insecticides, diazinon, fenitrothion and chlorpyrifos on Andrallus spinidens Fabricius (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), a predator lepidopterous larvae in rice fields were investigated. The insecticides applied topically at lethal dose (LD30) the fifth instar nymphs A. evaluated life table some biochemical parameters predatory bugs. results showed that pre-oviposition period, fecundity longevity treated bugs significantly affected compared with control. Analysis revealed adverse...
Abstract Nine phytoseiid mite species (Acari: Phytoseiidae) associated with eriophyid mites Eriophyidae) from Guilan Province of Iran are reported. Three represent new records for
The sublethal effects of diazinon, fenitrothion and chlorpyrifos on the functional response predatory bug, Andrallus spinidens Fabricius (Hem.: Pentatomidae), a potential biological control agent, were studied 5th-instar nymphs. experiment was conducted in varying densities (2, 4, 8, 16, 32 64) last instars larvae Chilo suppressalis Walker (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) as prey at 25 ± 2 °C, 60% 10% relative humidity (RH) photoperiod 16:8 h (L: D). results logistic regressions revealed type II all...
Abstract During a survey on the mites associated with stored rice and decayed bran in northern Iran, Guilan province, four species of Stigmaeidae (Acari: Prostigmata) were found. All species, namely Stigmaeus elongatus Berlese, candidus Fan Li, Storchia pacifica (Summers) robusta (Berlese), are new to fauna S. is Iran. Keys provided for all world found Iran neighboring countries. mazandaranicus Faraji Ueckermann recognized as junior synonym candidus. Key words : AcariStigmaeidaestored riceIran
The stigmaeid mites collected from Guilan Province in Northern Iran were investigated. A new species Cheylostigmaeus guilaniensis sp. nov. is described and illustrated. following five are records for the Iranian fauna: Eryngiopus bakeri Gonzalez, 1965; Eustigmaeus ottavii (Berlese, 1910); Ledermuelleriopsis spinosa Wood, 1967; Stigmaeus glypticus Summers, 1962; petrophilus Kuznetsov & Petrova, 1979. tabulated checklist recorded also...
The materials on the genus Vertagopus Börner from Caucasus and Iran are revised. Two new species, V. persicus sp. nov. nunataki nov., described fauna of in Western Asia is commented.
To identify potential predators of citrus trees pests we monitored phytoseiids in the canopy and on ground orchards for two consecutive years Guilan Province, Iran. The most abundant species, therefore greatest as a biocontrol agent, were Amblyseius herbicolus (Chant) (55.6%) Transeius wainsteini (Gomelauri) (30.6%). Graminaseius graminis is reported first time from A checklist key are given 24 phytoseiid species found
The cheyletid mites collected from Guilan province in Northern Iran were investigated. A total of 16 species determined. Of these, Eucheyletia flabellifera (Michael, 1878) is a new record for the Iranian mite fauna. Herein, we provide an expanded description, including illustrations adult female this based on material. tabulated checklist recorded also provided.
Abstract It is necessary to study the biochemical changes in insects exposed toxicants if we want predict potential of various chemicals on natural enemy. Physiological energy, as a biomarker, may be affected by many pesticides including organophosphate compounds. Therefore, this study, sublethal effects diazinon, fenitrothion, and chlorpyrifos cellular energy allocation (CEA) predatory bug, Andrallus spinidens Fabricius (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), biological control agent, was studied...
This paper describes a new species of mites in the genus Laelaspis from Iran. guilaniensis n. sp. was collected soil under alder trees Gisoom forest, Talesh, Guilan Province, The is described and illustrations are provided. A key to all known Iranian
Three new species of Isotomurus Börner are described from northern Iran. Status studied populations is confirmed as by using COI and 28SrRNA markers. The belong to species-group characterized 3,3,1 trichobothria on Abd. II-IV, 3+3 laterodistal setae ventral tube, no seta mucro. hyrcanicus sp. nov. similar I. palustris Müller in color pattern, but has two lateral bands last abdominal segments 10-13 retinaculum. Results analyses shows that all forms population the conspecific. potapovi a...
