Three novel perylene diimides featuring [1,2]dithiine and sulfur annulation onto the PDI core different branched alkyl chains have been designed facilely synthesized. The organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) devices based on as-synthesized compounds showed maximum electron mobilities of up to 0.008 cm2 V-1 s-1 under an ambient atmosphere.
