To investigate the accuracy of automated identification cephalometric landmarks using cascade convolutional neural networks (CNN) on lateral cephalograms acquired from nationwide multi-centres.A total 3150 were 10 university hospitals in South Korea for training. We evaluated developed model with independent 100 as an external validation. Two orthodontists independently identified anatomic test data set V-ceph software (version 8.0, Osstem, Seoul, Korea). The mean positions by two regarded...
Orthognathic surgery, or corrective jaw is performed to correct severe dentofacial deformities and increasingly sought for cosmetic purposes. Accurate prediction of surgical outcomes essential selecting the optimal treatment plan ensuring patient satisfaction. Here, we present GPOSC-Net, a generative model orthognathic surgery that synthesizes post-operative lateral cephalograms from pre-operative data. GPOSC-Net consists two key components: landmark estimates post-surgical cephalometric...
To investigate the pattern of accuracy change in artificial intelligence-assisted landmark identification (LI) using a convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm serial lateral cephalograms (Lat-cephs) Class III (C-III) patients who underwent two-jaw orthognathic surgery.A total 3,188 Lat-cephs C-III were allocated into training and validation sets (3,004 751 patients) test set (184 46 patients; subdivided genioplasty non-genioplasty groups, n = 23 per group) for LI. Each patient had four...
The aim of this study was to investigate the three-dimensional (3D) position center resistance 4 mandibular anterior teeth, 6 and complete dentition by using 3D finite-element analysis.Finite-element models included dentition, periodontal ligament, alveolar bone. crowns teeth in each group were fixed with buccal lingual arch wires splint minimize individual tooth movement evenly disperse forces onto teeth. Each subdivided into 0.5-mm intervals horizontally vertically, a force 200 g applied...
Abstract Background This study aimed to assess the error range of cephalometric measurements based on landmarks detected using cascaded CNNs and determine how horizontal vertical positional errors individual affect lateral measurements. Methods In total, 120 cephalograms were obtained consecutively from patients (mean age, 32.5 ± 11.6) who visited Asan Medical Center, Seoul, Korea, for orthodontic treatment between 2019 2021. An automated analysis model previously developed a nationwide...
Abstract The study aimed to identify critical factors associated with the surgical stability of pogonion (Pog) by applying machine learning (ML) predict relapse following two-jaw orthognathic surgery (2 J-OGJ). sample set comprised 227 patients (110 males and 117 females, 207 training 20 test sets). Using lateral cephalograms taken at initial evaluation (T0), pretreatment (T1), after (T2) 2 J-OGS, post treatment (T3), 55 linear angular skeletal dental movements (T2-T1) were measured. Six ML...
Three-dimensional finite element analysis of the deformation human mandible: a preliminary study from perspective orthodontic miniimplant stabilityObjective: The aims this were to investigate mandibular under clenching and estimate its effect on stability miniimplants (OMI).Methods: Three models constructed using computed tomography (CT) images 3 adults with different plane angles (A, low; B, average; C, high). An OMI was placed between #45 #46 in each model.Mandibular premolar molar...
To estimate the projected cancer risk attributable to diagnostic cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) performed under different exposure settings for orthodontic purposes in children and adults. We collected a list of CBCT machines their specifications from 38 orthodontists. Organ doses were estimated using median maximum 105 kVp/156.8 mAs 130 kVp/200 mAs, respectively. The procedures 1-3 times within 2 years was calculated (aged 5 10 years) adult 20, 30, 40 male female patients. For settings,...
Abstract The aim of this study was to develop an auto-segmentation algorithm for mandibular condyle using the 3D U-Net and perform a stress test determine optimal dataset size achieving clinically acceptable accuracy. 234 cone-beam computed tomography images condyles were acquired from 117 subjects two institutions, which manually segmented generate ground truth. Semantic segmentation performed basic cascaded U-Net. A different sets condylar as training, validation, datasets. Relative...
