Abstract MXenes, 2D compounds generated from layered bulk materials, have attracted significant attention in energy‐related fields. However, most syntheses involve HF, which is highly corrosive and harmful to lithium‐ion battery supercapacitor performance. Here an alkali‐assisted hydrothermal method used prepare a MXene Ti 3 C 2 T x (T=OH, O). This route inspired Bayer process bauxite refining. The free of fluorine yields multilayer with ca. 92 wt % purity (using 27.5 m NaOH, 270 °C)....

Abstract The preparation of subnanoporous covalent-organic-framework (COF) membranes with high performance for ion/molecule sieving still remains a great challenge. In addition to the difficulties in fabricating large-area COF membranes, main reason is that pore size 2D COFs much larger than most gas molecules and/or ions. It urgently required further narrow their sizes meet different separation demands. Herein, we report simple and scalable way grow large-area, pliable, free-standing via...

We prepare group VI transitional metal dichalcogenides (TMDs, or MX2) from the 1T phase with quantum-sized and monolayer features via a quasi-full electrochemical process. The resulting two-dimensional (2D) MX2 (M = W, Mo; X S, Se) quantum dots (QDs) are ca. 3.0-5.4 nm in size high fraction of 92%-97%. attribute this to Li content intercalated 1T-MX2 lattice (mole ratio Li:M is over 2:1), which achieved by an increased lithiation driving force reduced rate (0.001 A/g). not only promotes 2H →...

One of the main pathogeneses varicocoele and infertility is oxidative stress (OS), nevertheless, damaged DNA in infertile patients with remains poorly clarified. The objective this study was to comprehensively investigate whether sperm damage OS injury were related different issues varicocoele. According practice guidelines, surgical treatment not indicated subclinical (SubVc, n = 15) normozoospermic clinical (NCVc, 22), astheno/oligozoospermic (AOCVc, 51) would receive microsurgerical...

Utilizing natural plants as a source material for the extraction of corrosion inhibitors aligns with principles ecologically sustainable development. This study investigated inhibition effects and mechanisms sycamore leaf extract (SLE) on copper in 0.5 M sulfuric acid solution. The electrochemical results revealed that showed significant corrosion-inhibiting properties against solution, greater to be observed at elevated temperatures. At 298 K, current density 300 mg/L SLE solution is 4.35...

T-shaped molecules are designed in such a way that they self-organize into nanoscale liquid crystalline honeycombs based on polygons with any chosen number of sides. One the phases reported here is periodic organization identical pentagonal cylinders; other one structure composed square-shaped and triangular cylinders ratio 2:1. These two different packing motifs represent duals same topological class. The generalization concept applied allows prediction whole range unusual complex phases.

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have been grown on various substrates by thermal chemical vapor deposition using multilayered metal catalysts. Ion beam sputtering is used to deposit layers sequentially. Underlayers of Al (2−20 nm) are shown influence the growth characteristics with Fe or Ni as active The as-sputtered catalyst surface, characterized atomic force and scanning tunneling microscopies, consists nanometer scale (<10 particles.
