This explorative study was undertaken for the first time in Kel village located Upper Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The purpose to document indigenous knowledge of native people used preparation herbal medicines. To get data on traditional uses medicinal plants, 20 informants were interviewed. Quantitative ethnobotanical indices, i.e., use value (UV), relative frequencies citation (RFC), informant consensus factor (Fic), fidelity level (FL), matrix ranking (DMR), preference (PR),...

Informal interviews provided data about 245 useful plants of 77 families 55 trees, 54 shrubs, 105 herbs, 15 climber, 10 grasses and 6 crops recorded from the Margallah Hills National Park, Islamabad. Two hundred fifteen local/ vernacular names were noted total plants. The inhabitants park have for a long time been dependent on surrounding plant resources their food, health care, fodder, fuel wood other cultural purposes. A list species along with local name, part/s used, popular uses (or...

Multiple abiotic stresses such as drought, salinity, heat, and cold stress prevailing in natural habitats affect plant growth development. Different species modify their structural functional traits to combat these while growing stressful environments. Cenchrus species, i.e., pennisetiformis, C. setiger, prieurii are widely distributed grasses found all over the world. Samples from populations were collected different ecological regions Punjab Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa that exposed aridity, cold,...

Excessive use of pesticides are disturbing major components ecosystems. Therefore their removal using biodegradation technique is the need time. In present study, 35 microbial strains were isolated from industrial drain which carries effluents chlorpyrifos manufacturing plant. These significantly differ in ability against resistance and degradation. Out these WW5 was found most resistant effective On basis morphological, biochemical physiological characteristics, strain identified as...

The present investigations were carried out in Salt Range area of Pakistan, regarding the morphology grasses as an aid to their correct identification, distribution and indigenous uses area. study is globally known by its large salt reserves it has rich floral diversity. From 62 species belonging 11 tribes collected. largest tribe was Paniceae followed Andropogoneae having 18 12 species, respectively. play important role economy people Mainly, are used fodder area; some for thatching...

It is well known that different ecotypes adopt mechanisms to survive under environmental stress conditions. In this regard, each ecotype showed type of modifications for their existence in a specific habitat reflects ecological success. Here, differently adapted Bermuda grass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] were collected evaluate differential structural and functional are cope with The soil adheres roots highly saline case DF-SD (Derawar Fort-Saline Desert), UL-HS (Ucchali Lake-Hyper Saline)...

Three cultivars of Alternanthera bettzickiana (Regel) G.Nicholson have been evaluated for their tolerance and adaptability potential to salt stress. During the experiment, 5 regimes were maintained: 18 (control), 50, 100, 150, 200 mM NaCl. Salinity adversely affected all growth shoot length leaves per plant. Root fresh dry weight decreased with an increase in salinity levels 3 cultivars. A. 'Green' was most tolerant among under study, relatively lower ion leakage through roots, larger...
