Abstract This study applies the panel seeming unrelated regression of Kapetanios‐Shin‐Snell (SURKSS) test with a Fourier function to investigate time‐series properties stock prices in five African countries ( i.e. Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia) over period January 2000–April 2011. The empirical results from univariate unit root panel‐based tests indicate that hypothesis can not be rejected for these under study. However, SURKSS Egypt two Our weak‐form efficient market holds...

This study applies the Threshold Autoregressive (TAR) model proposed by Caner and Hansen (2001 Caner, M. Hansen, B. 2001. autoregression with a unit root. Econometrica, 69: 1555–96. The empirical results indicate that PPP holds true for only one country (i.e. Romanian) under adjustment towards is found be nonlinear.

We report the experimental results on improving detection of an ultraweak optical signal using a 355 nm pumped picosecond collinear parametric amplification (OPA). The OPA is seeded by amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) generated in solution pyridine-1 dye ethanol. gain factor this amplifier determined as ~1.5×10(8), and limit ~1.25 aJ per pulse, corresponding to five photons at 710 within 15 ps pulse width pump beam. This achieved reducing superfluorescence background noise means...

We demonstrate the output characteristic of broadband parametric amplification incoherent light pulses in a 355-nm pumped degenerate picosecond optical with either saturated or unsaturated amplification. The amplifier is seeded by fluorescence generated solution pyridine-1 dye ethanol. With amplification, we can obtain high energy pulses, whose full width at half maximum bandwidth varies from 16 nm to 53 for different phase matching angles near degeneracy. Moreover, amplified fits well...
