Quadratus lumborum block is a recently introduced variation of transversus abdominis plane block. In this report, we describe the use ultrasound-guided continuous quadratus for postoperative analgesia in 7-year-old child scheduled to undergo radical nephrectomy (left-sided) Wilms tumor. The result was excellent and minimal requirement rescue analgesics. modification described may allow easier placement catheter infusion local anesthetic.

Pecs block and its variations have been used for various breast surgeries. We describe 2 cases of mastectomy reconstruction by latissimus dorsi (LD) flap where regional analgesia was provided a combination ultrasound-guided Pecs-I serratus anterior plane block, recently described technique in which local anesthetic is deposited the between LD muscle. This resulted excellent intraoperative postoperative minimum systemic analgesics. The safe to administer provides good surgery flap.

Ultrasound-guided serratus anterior plane (SAP) block has been described to provide complete anaesthesia and analgesia the lateral thoracic wall. Its use recently reported in breast reconstruction surgeries. We present a series of 11 patients where ultrasound-guided SAP was used as part multimodal surgery using latissimus dorsi (LD) myocutaneous flap after mastectomies. This resulted excellent perioperative period minimal intravenous analgesics. The technique here is safe also provides...

Objective prediction of postoperative morbidity and mortality can help clinicians for appropriate resource allocation counseling patients their kin. Among different scoring systems, "Portsmouth- Physiological Operative Severity Score the enumeration Mortality Morbidity" (P-POSSUM) includes both preoperative intraoperative parameters risk prediction. The aim this study was to investigate validity by P-POSSUM in requiring intensive care after undergoing major surgeries gastrointestinal...

The use of ultrasound (US) scanning to assess the depth epidural space prevent neurological complications is established in current practice. In this study, we hypothesised that pre-puncture US for estimating thoracic epidurals comparable between transverse median (TM) and paramedian sagittal oblique (PSO) planes. We performed 32 patients, posted open abdominal surgeries. imaging was done detect from skin (ultrasound [UD]) needle insertion point, parasagittal plane PSO group TM group....

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain can be difficult to diagnose and treat. We describe a patient with left jaw after right hemimandibulectomy. The was initially managed conservatively, which failed reduce pain. He then administered inferior alveolar nerve block TMJ injection steroid local anesthetic. These injections provided temporary relief that lasted approximately 1 month the recurred. Computed tomography scan showed lateral displacement of mandibular condyle. given ultrasound-guided...

To determine whether the combination of topical, intracameral and facial nerve blocks would produce adequate analgesia for repair open globe injuries without increasing intraocular tension.A comparison combined O'Brien's block (facial block), topical ropivacaine lignocaine versus peribulbar in 100 randomly selected cases traumatic corneal rupture. Patients were divided two groups 50 each based on those receiving approach (Group T) undergoing P). excluded if there was rupture with significant...

Continuous epidural analgesia through tunneled catheter is effective and economical for terminally ill cancer patients, in whom systemic medications alone cannot offer adequate pain relief. We describe a patient with severe leg from unrespectable endometrial carcinoma, we successfully used long term few modifications of the usual technique that would make process safer operator reduce risk infection.

Both these SGAD are known to have similar safety profile paediatric age group.A total 62 were randomly allocated into 2 groups. In group L: LMA) I: was inserted. After...
