Abstract The Aedes aegypti mosquito is generally associated with arboviruses that cause yellow fever, dengue, zika and chikungunya. most efficient way to control their populations through application in breeding sites of highly toxic insecticides can also impact non‐target organisms generate resistant populations. Therefore, the use compounds desirable. Morin hydrate has broad pharmacological applications based on its antioxidant potential, addition not having negative effects mammals....
Solanum cernuum Vellozo is a Brazilian shrub or small tree, restricted to Southwest states of the country. It has been widely used for treatment many ailments. The pharmacological activity extract on gastric ulcer major therapeutic target proposed by population investigated. In acute toxicity test was increasing doses (2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 25 g per kilogram body weight). animal behavior observed from 5h after single administration subsequently monitored daily until fourteenth day, beyond...
Abstract Dexmedetomidine ( DEX ) is a α 2 ‐adrenoceptor (α ‐ AR agonist used as an anesthetic adjuvant and sedative in critical care settings. Typically, agonists release nitric oxide NO subsequently activate GMP c pathway have been implicated with antinociception. In this study, we investigate the pharmacological mechanisms involved antinociceptive effects of , using acetic acid‐induced writhing assay mice. Saline or (1, 2, 5, 10 μg/kg) was intravenously injected 5 min before ip...
The leaves of Myrcia ovata, popularly known as "laranjinha do mato", are frequently used an infusion in folk medicine. essential oil obtained from these is rich citral, a mixture neral and geranial isomers, for its analgesic effect. Male Swiss mice (20–22 g) were tested models acute pain (acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing, tail flick, formalin tests) inflammation (paw oedema air pouch well model evaluation spontaneous motor performance (open-field test). M. ovata was...
The compound (±)-trans-4-hydroxy-6-propyl-1-oxocyclohexan-2-one [(±)-δ-lactone] was isolated from the plant Vitex cymosa Bertero, and determined to be active principle. present study aimed evaluate antinociceptive effect of (±)-δ-lactone elucidate its mechanism action. Mice were subjected in-vivo models acute pain (acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing, formalin hot-plate tests) open-field test. (±)-δ-Lactone, administered orally (6-900 µmol/kg), exerted a dose-dependent in acetic tests....
Piperin is the active compound of black pepper (Piper nigrum). From piperine was obtained molecule piperic acid (PAC). The objective this study to evaluate antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory compound. effects PAC were evaluated by abdominal writhing, formalin, capsaicin tail-flick tests; while paw oedema air pouch tests, in vitro COX inhibition assay. possible action mechanism using naloxone, L-NAME, glibenclamide atropine tail flick test Cholinesterase activity assay production TNF-α...
Vitex cymosa Bertero ex Spreng., Lamiaceae, is found in Central and Amazon regions of Brazil, where it popularly used as antirheumatic. Extracts from the leaves V. were tested analgesia models such abdominal contortions induced by acetic acid formalin to test peripheral analgesia; well tail flick hot plate models, spinal supraspinal analgesia. A significant reduction was observed number with all extracts doses. In model, a second phase (inflammatory) extracts, whereas only n-butanol extract...
Leishmaniases are a group of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) caused by protozoan parasites from >20 Leishmania species. Visceral leishmaniasis (VL), also known as kala-aza, is the most severe form leishmaniasis, usually fatal in absence treatment 95% cases. The Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts (MBHAs) being explored drug candidates against several diseases, one them leishmaniasis. We present here design, synthesis and vitro screening donovani sixteen new molecular hybrids...
Pain is a major cause of distress, both physical and psychological. There continuous search for new pharmacologically active analgesic agents with minor adverse effects. Recently, the synthesis (-)-(2S,6S)-(6-ethyl-tetrahydropyran-2-yl)-formic acid [tetrahydropyran derivative (TD)] was described. The objective this study to investigate antinociceptive effects TD. Its activity compared morphine. TD morphine were evaluated in models inflammatory noninflammatory pain. (6-1200 μmol/kg,...
Abstract Epidemiological and animal studies have demonstrated a strong association between selenium (Se) supplementation metabolic disorders, we aimed to evaluate whether maternal Se was able change parameters in rats' offspring. Moreover, as is deiodinase (DIO) cofactor, decided investigate how thyroid hormones (THs) would be involved such changes. Thereby, two groups (n = 6, ~250 g) of female Wistar rats underwent isotonic saline or sodium selenite (1 mg/kg, p.o. ) treatments. Although...
The present study used behavioral analyses to investigate the involvement of NO/cGMP/KATP pathway, serotoninergic, and opioid systems in antinociceptive action [(±)-(2,4,6-cis)-4-chloro-6-(naphthalen-1-yl)-tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl]methanol (CTHP) mice. Oral administration CTHP (1, 5, 10, 30 mg/kg) exerted effects at higher doses chemical models nociception (the acetic acid writhing formalin tests) as well a thermal model tail-flick test). It was also found that pretreatment with...
Lophanthera lactescens is a medicinal plant commonly used in traditional medicine to relieve fever and pain inflammatory processes. In the present study, in vivo antinociceptive anti-inflammatory effects of methanolic extract from L. have been investigated. Antinociceptive activity was evaluated through writhing, formalin, tail flick tests, while paw oedema air pouch tests mice. A phytochemical analysis performed. The produced significant inhibition on nociception induced by...
This work describes the design, synthesis and in vivo evaluation of new central nervous system depressing agents that show low levels acute toxicity, high solubility in water, anxiolytic hypnotic effects without sleep deprivation.
