The rations estimated contain 7·9 and 6·2 kg starch equivalent per day, with adequate protein content. allocated random these for weeks 1·9 lactation re-allocated them 10–18 Apart from minor variation all fed alike remainder higher level feeding increased yields solids solids-not-fat content in each period but had a smaller mid- than early lactation, trend which...

Conclusions concerning trends in natural resource scarcity may depend critically on the choice of index. Unfortunately, prevalence vertical integration industries has hindered use some otherwise desirable measures. In this paper duality theory is used to derive an econometric procedure for estimating one such measure, shadow price situ. Empirical results Canadian metal mining industry indicate that as measured by decreased substantially over time.

SUMMARY Food utilization by lactating dairy cows was studied in a randomized experiment covering the first 24 weeks of lactation, with further observations on performance over remainder lactation under farm conditions. Over 3-year period 90 firstcalf each took part for one making six groups 14–16 animals. For experimental fixed basal diet given hay, concentrates, and wet brewer's grains. One group received only ration. Four addition concentrates supplement 4, 8, 12, 16 from calving onwards...

While full automation of road vehicles remains a future goal, shared-control and semiautonomous driving-involving transitions control between the human machine-are more feasible objectives in near term. These alternative driving modes will benefit from new research toward novel steering devices, suitably where machine intelligence only partially controls vehicle. In this article, it is proposed that when shares vehicle with an autonomous or system, force control, nondisplacement wheel (i.e.,...

SUMMARY Fishmeal, soya-bean meal and urea were compared as nitrogen sources in diets rich fibre for yearling cattle, using feeding trials digestibility retention studies. All animals individually fed. Diets supplemented with fishmeal supported the highest rates of daily live-weight gain retention. There was no response dry-matter intake from extra nitrogen, either or urea, when crude protein diet 8·5% over, a small used. Molar proportions VFA, rumen NH 3 -N concentrations blood all affected...

Childhood malnutrition and growth faltering is a serious concern in Nepal. Studies of child typically focus on mother characteristics as key factors, largely because Demographic Health Surveys (DHS) collect data at these levels. To control for measure the importance higher-level factors this study supplements 2006 2011 DHS Nepal with from coincident rounds Living Standards (NLSS). NLSS information summarized district level matched to children using identifiers available DHS. The sample...

Abstract Operational characteristics have been determined for fused silica capillary column (FSCC) GC/MS as applied to “extractable” priority polutants. Chromatographic data show excellent relative retention time (RRT) intralaboratory precision and interlaboratory accuracy when multiple internal standards are empolyed. Potential chromatographic problems, such overload “double peaking”, addressed. Response factor standard deviations (RSD) at 50 ng most of the extractable pollutants over long...
