We obtained historical and observational data on phytoplankton communities from 1959 to 2023 explore the responses of community structure long-term environmental changes in southern Yellow Sea (SYS), China. The results revealed a decrease proportions diatom cell abundance within by 8%, accompanied corresponding increase that dinoflagellates.
