This paper describes the implementation and first measurement results of a new way that obtains row column profile data from CMOS Image Sensor, which is developed for micro-Digital Sun Sensor (μDSS).The basic profiling action achieved by pixels with p-type MOS transistors realize so-called "Winner Takes It All (WTIA) [1][2]" principle. The WTIA improves μDSS system greatly on speed power consumption. In this sensor ideally suited digital sun intended astronomy applications.

Micro-Digital Sun Sensor is an attitude sensor which senses relative position of micro-satellites to the sun in space. It composed a solar cell power supply, RF communication block and imaging chip called APS+. The APS+integrates CMOS Active Pixel (APS) 512×512 pixels, 12 bit Analogue Digital Converter (ADC), digital Input Output (I/O) circuits, timing signal generators drivers, processing circuits for centroid calculation. paper describes implementation prototype μDSS APS+ using standard...

Fatigue, as the governing degradation mechanism in steel bridge decks, can lead to non-inspectable cracks under welded intersections of stiffeners deck plate. As a result, estimation remaining service life and optimization maintenance program decks become great challenge. A comprehensive structural health monitoring (SHM) system comprising acoustic emission (AE), guided waves (GW), strain measurements has been developed implemented on test subject fatigue loading laboratory environment....

In 2007 TNO started to fly some sensors on an unmanned helicopter platform. These included RGB, B/W and thermal infrared cameras. 2008 a spectrometer was added. The goal for 2010 is be able offer low altitude flying platform including several sensors. Development of these will take place the next years. Since total weight payload should < 7kg, requirements individual quite strict. Applications include gas concentrations, water quality, pipelines, etc. Collaboration still possible. Combining...

A high-precision and low-power miniaturized digital sun sensor has been developed at TNO. The single-chip comprises an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) on which active pixel (APS), read-out processing circuitry as well communication are combined. design was optimized for low recurrent cost. is albedo insensitive the prototype combines accuracy in order of 0.03° with a mass just 72 g power consumption only 65 mW.

What started as an academic development in frame of the Dutch MicroNed program five years ago should culminate introduction smallest digital sunsensor available (and probably outside) Europe at ICSO. At ICSO, TNO plans to show for first time a working mini-DSS, based on APS+ chip. The has been optimized low power, recurring costs and high repeatability production. In order achieve this, several innovations have included verified diverse range supporting programs. During presentation, trades...
