Two flat plate solar collectors for heating plants from Arcon Solvarme A/S are tested in a laboratory test facility at Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The designed the same way. However, one collector is equipped with an ETFE foil between absorber and cover glass other without foil. efficiencies different flow rates. On basis measured efficiencies, as functions rate obtained. calculated good agreement efficiencies.

In this work the heat dynamics of a storage tank were modelled on basis data and maximum likelihood methods. The resulting grey-box model was used for Economic Model Predictive Control (MPC) energy in tank. control objective to balance from solar collector consumption residential house. provides periods where there is low radiation stores when surplus heat. forecasts patterns based obtained meters group single-family houses Denmark. can also be heated by electric heating elements if...

This study presents the design and performance of Brønderslev hybrid plant – world's first concentrated solar power (CSP)-biomass to utilize waste heat. The combined heat consist a 16.6 MW parabolic trough collector field, two 10 biomass boilers, an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) system with electrical output 4 MW. field boilers are hydraulically connected supply in parallel ORC system. A multi-stage recovery process ensures that is supplied local district heating grid. can also be operated...

To enable the transition from fossil fuels as a primary heat source for domestic hot water preparation and space heating solar thermal energy has great potential. The sun disadvantage that it is not always available when there demand. solve this mismatch seasonal storage can be used to store excess summer winter demand higher than supply. Installing long term in one family house needs compact sensible storages are suitable. A latent with phase change material (PCM) provide more way of...
