Abstract Field trials in Europe with Miscanthus over the past 25 years have demonstrated that interspecies hybrids such as M. × giganteus ( M g ) combine both high yield potentials and low inputs a wide range of soils climates. are expected to play major role provision perennial lignocellulosic biomass across much part lower carbon economy. However, even favourable policies some European countries, uptake has been slow. , sterile clone, can only be propagated vegetatively, which leads...

Abstract Genetic improvement through breeding is one of the key approaches to increasing biomass supply. This paper documents progress date for four perennial crops (PBCs) that have high output–input energy ratios: namely Panicum virgatum (switchgrass), species genera Miscanthus (miscanthus), Salix (willow) and Populus (poplar). For each crop, we report on size germplasm collections, efforts phenotype genotype, diversity available scale work as indicated by number attempted crosses. We also...

Abstract The effect of some selenium-containing compounds on the antioxidant properties Allium sativum L. plants is shown in present work. Pre-treatment bulbs before planting and foliar treatment during plant growth with gibberellin solution (125 mg · L −1 ); potassium selenate (36 μg Se·L ) a new cobalt(III) coordinative compound (33 resulted increase concentration proline assimilating pigments, reduced peroxide oxidation lipids, enhanced cell protection. greatest was observed pre-treated...

Our research has shown that seed quality is critical to achieving high garlic yields. Peripheral cloves are of better than internal ones (mass ratio 60:40%). It been established the use for planting from different places without mass calibration leads bulb ripening periods, which complicates harvesting process and a deterioration in garlic. Sorting according uniform ensures plant development, simultaneous product quality.

Despite the centuries-old traditions of garlic cultivation, and systemic perpetuation a series problems related to maintenance evaluation gene pool, mainly local forms as safe sources resistance biotic abiotic factors their inclusion in improvement process order create new varieties, complimented with study biological peculiarities cultivation technology, production planting material still remains unexplained. In ensure scientific assistance, creation implementation culture, collections...

Research conducted at the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection found that when using peripheral internal cloves garlic for planting in comparison with use them different locations without calibrating by mass, during growth between variants differences area leaf surface plants were observed. Indicator foliage also depends on location bulb. The cloves, internal, as a material, affects vegetative mass formation bulb weight. In structure have some increase their quality over...

Clove placement influences plant growth and development, as well bulb mass forma-tion. Peripheral garlic cloves are distinguished by their superior quality compared to internal ones (mass ratio is 60: 40%). Studies have found that using from different locations wi-thout calibration for planting leads ripening times, which complicates the harvesting process a deterioration in quality. Sorting, with aim of similarly ground planting, ensures uniform along better products.
