Graph theory is increasingly being used to study brain connectivity across the spectrum of Alzheimer's disease (AD), but prior findings have been inconsistent, likely reflecting methodological differences. We systematically investigated how methods graph creation (i.e., type correlation matrix and edge weighting) affect structural network properties group estimated networks based on maps cortical thickness obtained from MRI. Four groups were compared: 126 cognitively normal older adults, 103...
Given a sequence of observations, has change occurred in the underlying probability distribution with respect to observation order? This problem detecting points arises variety applications including health prognostics for mechanical systems, syndromic disease surveillance geographically dispersed populations, anomaly detection information networks, and multivariate process control general. Detecting high-dimensional settings is challenging, most change-point methods multidimensional...
This study evaluated the ion transport properties of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate (EMIAc)-based solutions containing additional acetonitrile (AN), H2O, and up to 3.0 wt-% carbohydrate solutes. Solution conductivity was directly measured via frequency response, self-diffusivity coefficients determined pulsed-field gradient spin-echo (PGSE) NMR. These data combined determine solution ionicity. Multiple linear regression analysis shows ionicity is primarily impacted by added neutral...
In the presence of informative right censoring and time-dependent covariates, we estimate survival function in a fully nonparametric fashion. We introduce novel method for incorporating multiple observations per subject when estimating at different covariate values compare several competing methods via simulation. The proposed is applied to data from people awaiting liver transplant.
Graph theory is emerging as a new technique to study changes in brain connectivity and network organization that occur with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Although prior studies have demonstrated AD-related structural networks, these were often small sometimes inconsistent, likely due differences construction. The current represents the first systematic investigation of how methods construction affect properties. A second goal was investigate order which properties become abnormal increasing...
A new nonparametric test is proposed for the multivariate two-sample problem. Similar to Rosenbaum’s cross-match test, each observation considered be a vertex of complete undirected weighted graph; interpoint distances are edge weights. minimum-weight, r-regular subgraph constructed, and mean cross-count statistic equal number edges in containing one from first group second, divided by r. Unequal distributions will tend result fewer that connect vertices between different groups. The...
The theory of the strong force, Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) remains one most important ways to understand fundamental properties ordinary matter. However, at low momentum transfer Q2, in regime where force becomes extremely strong, our understanding QCD for nucleons hazy. Several cutting edge theories such as Chiral Perturbation Theory and Lattice have provided valuable predictions this regime, but has not yet extended many quantities kinematic region, faced several disagreements with...
