Agroforestry (AF) is a sustainable land use practice and system that increases the ecosystem services delivery from agricultural lands compared with treeless systems. can be considered when linked to plot scale (silvoarable, silvopasture, homegarden, woody linear landscape strips, forest farming), associated global farm scale. The enhancement of promotion biodiversity caused by presence trees optimizes resources if adequate species are mixed. implemented at temporal spatial scales. At scale,...

Nutritive quality of vegetation is important when evaluating the habitat to sustain wildlife.Crude protein, fiber content and in vitro digestibility were evaluated for 17 shrubs, 7 trees, 2 ferns, 3 forbs, 4 grasses species Galician (NW Spain) woodlands understory.Nutritional attributes showed Frangula alnus Miller, Hedera helix L. Lonicera periclymenum as plants with highest forage value.Crude protein levels Rubus sp., Robinia pseudacacia L., Castanea sativa could meet deer nitrogen...

Horse grazing systems may affect productivity and biodiversity of understory developed under Pinus radiata D. Don silvopastoral systems, while acting as a tool to reduce the risk fire. This study compared continuous rotational effect upon biomass, fractions stem, sprouts, leaves woody parts Ulex europaeus L. alpha (Species Richness, Shannon-Wiener) beta (Jaccard Magurran) for period four years in P. system. The experiment consisted randomized block design two treatments (continuous grazing)....

Floristic diversity changes substantially depending on the type of land management. We evaluated impact a continuous (CG) and rotational (RG) grazing system dynamics plant community composition in heather-gorse understory after two six-year pause from horse grazing. Previously grazed sites had higher total rare species richness than ungrazed (UN), regardless system. The positive previous was CG continued six years both systems. Seven high conservation interest heathlands were present studied...

Silvopastoral systems play an important role in climate change mitigation, considering their effect on soil carbon sequestration. In silvopastoral systems, sewage sludge can be used as fertiliser, which is promoted by the Circular Economy Package of European Commission. This study evaluates chemical properties (pH, carbon), tree growth (top height, canopy cover), and interactions from 1998 to 2012 a Pinus radiata D. Don system northwest Spain. Nine fertilisation treatments were applied:...

Tannins are secondary metabolites that may influence feeding by mammals on plants. We analyzed hydrolyzable and condensed tannins in 30 plant species consumed livestock deer, as a preliminary attempt to study their possible implications browsing grazing forest ecosystems. Heathers (Ericaceae) plants of the Rose (Rosaceae) family had tannins, while forbs, grasses shrubs other than heathers did not show astringency properties. found highest tannin content all Rubus sp., with value around 180...

Abstract The kinetics of substitution H 2 O by Ru(NH 3 ) 5 pz 2+ (pz = pyrazine) in Fe(CN) 3− have been studied micellar aqueous solutions sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS). Experimental results are discussed using an approach based on the transition‐state theory. This is better than others pseudophase model, which can also be used, because it able to give a clear meaning parameters model. Trends observed reactivity explained change degree association one reactants micelles (Ru(NH present work)....

The kinetics of the electron transfer reactions between S(2)O(8)(2-) and complexes (Ru(NH(3))(5)L)(2+) (L = pyridine, pyrazine, 4-cyanopyridine) have been studied in micellar (SDS) solutions. A method for evaluation reorganization energy these reactions, based on comparison their rate constants, is proposed. From results obtained, we concluded that observed constants go through a minimum surfactant concentration which goes maximum. can be applied to any kind restricted geometry conditions.
