Keggin ion-mediated synthesis of Au core-Ag shell bimetallic nanoparticles is described. Exposure photochemically reduced aqueous (PW12O40)3- ions to AuCl4- leads the formation stable gold capped by ions. The surface-bound may then be activated UV irradiation and, upon exposure Ag+ ions, reduce metal form a silver around core. That capping agent not only stabilizes but also plays role switchable reducing highlight this approach with important implications in nanomaterials and catalysis.
The surface modification of aqueous silver colloidal particles with the amino acid cysteine and cross-linking in solution is described. Capping accomplished by a thiolate bond between nanoparticle surface. are stabilized electrostatically ionizing carboxylic groups cysteine. Aging cysteine-capped leads to aggregation via hydrogen formation molecules located on neighboring particles. reversible upon heating above 60 °C. rate may be accelerated screening repulsive electrostatic interactions...
Although artificial capsule structures have been thoroughly investigated, functionality at the surfaces of their interiors has surprisingly overlooked. In order to exploit this aspect capsular structure, we here report breakthrough fabrication metallic (platinum) microcapsules with sufficient accessibility and electroactivity both interior exterior (open-mouthed platinum microcapsules), also demonstrate improvements in electrochemical catalytic functions emphasize practical importance our...
A copper(II)-oxide-based exhaust catalyst exhibits better activity than Pt- and Rh-nanoparticle catalysts in NO remediation at 175 °C. Following theoretical design, the CuO is rationally prepared; nanoplates bearing a maximized amount of active {001} facet are arranged interleaved layers. field test using commercial gasoline engine demonstrates ability to remove from small vehicles. Air pollution by automobile becoming global challenge; it not limited developing countries where traffic...
The organization of gold nanoparticles at the liquid−liquid interface between hydrosol and benzene as well anthracene in chloroform is described. Vigorous stirring biphasic mixture results almost complete transfer from aqueous to phase subsequent assembly interface. In case chloroform, assembled directly forming an extremely flexible membrane. nanoparticle films formed both cases could be transferred onto different solid supports were analyzed by a host techniques. show reasonable...
Vigorous stirring of a biphasic mixture containing hexadecylaniline in chloroform and aqueous chloroauric acid results the formation gold nanoparticles controllable size organic phase.
Development of simple and reliable protocols for the synthesis phase-pure core–shell metal nanoparticles is an important problem in nanomaterials synthesis; Au core–Pd/Pt shell described this paper. This accomplished by utilizing Keggin ions bound to surface gold as UV-switchable reducing agents. Exposure ion-capped aqueous solutions Pd2+ Pt4+ after UV activation results selective reduction only on thus, nanostructures. The Au@Pd Au@Pt was followed UV-vis spectroscopy, X-ray photoemission...
The one-step electrostatic complexation, reduction of aqueous chloroaurate ions and capping the gold nanoparticles thus formed by hexadecylaniline Langmuir monolayers, is described. This process leads to formation highly oriented nanoribbons strongly bound monolayer (images alongside) that may be transferred as multilayers Langmuir−Blodgett technique. unusual morphology nanostructures believed a consequence localized monolayer.
In the work reported in this paper, we demonstrate that Ag+–Keggin ion colloidal particles are excellent templates for synthesis of organized assemblies silver nanoparticles, wherein Keggin host plays role a UV-switchable reducing agent. More specifically, investigate formation aqueous Ag+ ions complexed with phosphotungstate (PW12O40)3− and show they may be used as new class inorganic scaffolds nanoparticle assemblies. The crystalline reduced photochemically resulting electron transfer to...
The synthesis of nanomaterials with control over size, shape and chemical composition continues to be a major challenge in nanoscience. requirements nanomaterial are becoming more sophisticated and, addition anisotropic structures, there is much excitement surrounding the development recipes for core–shell hollow nanostructures. Much motivation research this direction stems from unusual optoelectronic properties exhibited by such In article, we review work laboratory on flat gold...
Pyrimidine based polymers are reported for CO 2 adsorption studies. 1,3,5-triaminopyrimidine-based polymer using cheap linker terephthaldehyde is design and employed the metal- halide-free carbon dioxide cycloaddition reaction with epoxides.
Abstract The formation of fiber‐like colloidal particles the amino acid lysine complexed with Keggin ions is demonstrated. lysine–phosphotungstic (PTA) act as excellent templates for synthesis and assembly gold nanoparticles wherein lysine‐PTA complex acts a UV‐switchable reducing agent ions. This novel bio‐organic–inorganic template shows potential regulated nanoreactor application in programmed nanoparticle single step.
Development of simple and reliable protocols for the synthesis organically soluble catalytically active metal nanoparticles is an important aspect research in nanomaterials. We demonstrate herein formation Pd by reduction aqueous Pd(NO3)2 photoexcited Keggin ions (phosphotungstate anions). This results capped with that render particles negatively charged. The ion may then be phase transferred into nonpolar organic solvents such as toluene electrostatic complexation cationic surfactants...
