The meaningful correlations between the zero-sound modes and stiffness of nuclear equation state (EOS) are uncovered in matter with relativistic mean-field theory. It is demonstrated that high-density merely exist models stiff EOS. While EOS can be softened by including $\ensuremath{\omega}$-meson self-interactions (the ${\ensuremath{\omega}}^{4}$ term), weakened coupling reignites zero sound at high density.
