Abstract This is the second paper in a series that utilize integral field spectroscopy from MaNGA, NUV imaging Swift/UVOT and NIR 2MASS to investigate dust attenuation properties on kpc scales nearby galaxies. We apply method developed our previous work updated SWiM_v4.2 catalog, measure optical curve three bands for 2487 spaxels selected 91 galaxies with S/N>20 A V >0.25. classify all into two subsets: star-forming (SF) regions non-SF regions. explore correlations of opacity (A )...
Abstract We study the size–mass relation (SMR) and recent star formation history (SFH) of post-starburst (PSB) galaxies in local Universe using spatially resolved spectroscopy from final data release MaNGA. Our sample includes 489 PSB galaxies: 94 cPSB with central regions, 85 rPSB ringlike 310 iPSB irregular regions. When compared to control similar rate, redshift, mass, a SMR is found for all types samples except galaxies, which have smaller sizes at intermediate masses ( <?CDATA...
Abstract We develop a novel approach to measure the dust attenuation properties of galaxies, including opacity, shape curve, and strength 2175 Å absorption feature. From an observed spectrum, method uses model-independent derive relative curve with absolute amplitude calibrated using NIR photometry. The dust-corrected spectrum is fitted stellar population models dust-free model which compared SED/spectrum from NUV determine properties. apply this investigate on kiloparsec scales sample 134...
A new programmable prediction method is developed to refine the occultation band by taking into consideration triaxiality of an occulting body, as well two more factors, namely, barycenter offset planet from relevant planetary satellite system and gravitational deflection light rays due planet. Although these factors can be neglected in most cases, it shown that there are cases when cause a variation ranging several tens thousands kilometers boundaries bands. Knowledge analytic geometry...
