BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Cochlear safety is paramount during middle fossa surgery because of the proximity cochlea to adjacent potential surgical targets such as internal auditory canal (IAC). Several proposed methods are based on general anatomical relationships and distance averages between structures or reconstruction lines drawn other around cochlea. We assessed feasibility using cochlear dimple a direct localization landmark approach IAC. METHODS: The was simulated in 13 fresh...

Brain cross-sectional images, tractography, and segmentation are valuable resources for neuroanatomical education research but also crucial neurosurgical planning that may improve outcomes in cerebellar brainstem interventions. Although ultrahigh-resolution 7-Tesla (7T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) diffusion tensor (DTI) reveal such structural brain details living or fresh unpreserved tissue, standard formalin-preserved cadaveric specimens often used anatomic studies has proven...

To report our experience with the use of contoured mini circular transarticular external skeletal fixators for management traumatic tarsal luxations in 15 cats.Fifteen cats joint luxation treated by using available clinical records and complete radiographic follow-up at least 30 weeks duration were included study. Data collected signalment, history, type injury, concomitant frame configuration, stabilization technique, surgery, time to first operated limb, fixator removal time,...

Background Neural tube defect is one of the most prevalent congenital malformations and it involves a variety ranging from anencephaly to spina bifida. Folic acid supplementation during pregnancy known reduce risk neural defects. Antiepileptic drugs have been associated with defects, which valproic acid. Protective effect folic on in patients using or other antiepileptic medicines has not clearly delineated uniformly previous clinical series. In this experimental animal study early chick...

Complete physical, radiological neurological examinations were done the spinal deformities characterized accord Nasca classification used human medicine. Two dogs had multiple hemivertebrae (round, oval or wedge-shaped: Type 3) thoracic region; one dog an individual surplus half vertebral body (Type 1) plus wedge-shaped hemivertebra 2b) lumbar which fused on side 4a) 2a) cervical region.

Objective: To evaluate the results of bilateral endoscopic optic nerve decompression (EOND) with opening sheath (ONS) technique in patients idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). Methods: Between years 2017 and 2019, we retrospectively evaluated nine IIH progressive visual impairment despite medical treatment who were treated EOND ONS techniques. We also demonstrated our surgical recipe on postmortem human heads a stepwise manner. Results: There 9 (7 females 2 males) between ages 21 72...

Summary Objective: To present a novel technique for the treatment of severe congenital flexural forelimb deformities in calves. Methods: Thirteen calves different breeds and sex with were enrolled study. A semicircular external skeletal fixation system composed 6-hole, 45° carbon-fiber arches, 6 mm threaded rods, half-pin bolts, hexagonal nuts, negative profile end-threaded half-pins used pancarpal arthrodesis. Complications, time to first use limb, fixator removal time, preoperative...

This study reports the diagnosis and surgical management of atlanto-axial instability with an oblique axial fracture in a dog. The was diagnosed by radiography Computed Tomography (CT). In CT views, appearance distortion atlantoaxial articular surface interpreted as instability. stabilization achieved cancellous screws. Following surgery, neurological status improved dog no longer had marked deficits.

Attempts at repositioning of joints by flexion failed while increased manipulative forces caused signs pain and vocalization. Orthogonal radiographic views revealed a significant malarticulation tarsus. Goniometric measurments 145° extensor 95° internal torsional deformity. Treatment outcome: Pantarsal...
