In this paper the determination of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) in pharmaceutical formulations using square-wave voltammetry (SWV) and a boron-doped diamond electrode (BDD) is described. Abstract A cathodically pretreated boron‐doped diamond electrode was used for the simultaneous anodic determination of ascorbic acid (AA) and caffeine (CAF) by differential pulse voltammetry. Linear calibration curves ( r =0.999) were obtained from 1.9×10 −5 to 2.1×10 −4 mol L −1 AA 9.7×10 −6 1.1×10 CAF, with detection limits 19 μmol 7.0 , respectively. This method successfully applied CAF in pharmaceutical formulations, results equal those using a HPLC reference method.
