Modern value creation is characterized by collaboration of large networks specialized companies. Due to market requirements and increasing competition, concurrent or simultaneous engineering has become the standard procedure in product development. Still, development processes often follow traditionally linear sequential patterns, allowing for only a narrow scope iterations. Milestone-driven models are widely used control steer such processes. In this article, authors argue that proper...

Abstract Digital twins can offer various added values for companies. As part of a three-year research project, we are investigating the methodological approach, building digital in existing infrastructures. In particular, functional requirements future users will be addressed, as this is less focused approaches. Within framework publication, discuss applied methodology well created models and concepts. Initial insights were gained simultaneous development parallel projects with use cases...

The intention to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the aviation industry is generating high pressure innovate, which also leading an increasing need for improvements development process, especially as this already subject major changes due changing products and value creation systems. In future, process should be more digitalized information better integrated order optimize supply of developers. To end, following article presents a digital twin product development, being developed part...

Smart products are increasingly penetrating the market. They extend cyber-physical systems with Internet-based services and thus enable customer-specific adaptations updates of in field. For industrial companies, smart product offering bear potential to expand their portfolios increase sales. In this article, results a survey among German engineers presented that evaluated actual state adoption future expectations regarding companies. The show majority companies have recognized potentials...

Abstract Finding redundant requirements or semantically similar ones in previous projects is a very time-consuming task engineering design, especially with multilingual data. Due to modern NLP it possible automate such tasks. In this paper we compared different embeddings models see which of them the most suitable find English and German. The comparison was done for both in-domain data (requirements pairs) out-of-domain (general sentence pairs). model were learnt knowledge distillation.
